My experience of Working — A Musical has oddly been years in the making. It first hit my radar when a fellow pinay performer booked it around the start of the pandemic, remarking how meaningful it would be to get to play a Filipina on stage. Then, just as we were coming out of quarantine, I got to see a few friends do an outdoor production of it in front of the AFL-CIO in DC. Finally, sometime last year, while on a break from doing theatre, I saw that The Colonial Players of Annapolis would be putting on this very show and remember talking with Tom after he'd let me know he put in to direct this production not long after. I've been mostly documenting the rest of it ever since.

I'm so very grateful to everyone involved with this production for making it just the thing my body, mind, heart, and soul needed in this exact moment. To Ben, Kristen, Peter, Kyle, Christian, Sarah, Samantha, Tia, and Lance, especially...thank you for lifting me up these last few months, knowingly and unknowingly. This mid-life mama has been struggling and the offstage sharing we got to do of our very real joys and pains, deep thoughts and frivolous ones too helped to keep me grounded in all of your exquisite humanity when I would have otherwise spiraled downward into things I've been having a hard time staving off lately. I couldn't have asked for a more exceptional group of human beings to create a much needed something to point to with. Mahal na mahal kita. ❤️⚙️🌃

Scenes from our penultimate weekend and sold out last matinee of Working — A Musical. Thankful for the wonderful audiences we've had these last four weeks and the fantastic folks whom I've had the fortune of getting to know while telling the stories of such relatable characters over the last few months. You've got three more chances to catch this unique production at Colonial Players in downtown Annapolis. Hope to see you there! #Working #ColonialPlayers

New pizza oven has a steep learning curve but we’re getting better! Only kind of burnt all of them.
