This morning, our friend Hunter Chapman stopped by with a very special question for Michael Bell: “Will you be my superhero?”

Michael said YES! He’ll be joining Jeff Shropshire and Meredith Woods for a challenge of their own: skydiving to support Extra Special People (ESP)!

For 40 years, ESP has created life-changing experiences for people with disabilities and their families. Every day, ESP members demonstrate incredible courage, overcome challenges, and remind us of the power of the human spirit.

On Friday, our communities participated in Tidal Wave’s Annual Charity Day at nine locations across Athens, Marietta, Rome, and Savannah! 🌊

More than 2,000 cars were washed in support of ESP! 🫧🚙

Thank you to every volunteer, staff member, and ESP family who showed up, waved signs, and helped make the day so much fun.

And thank you, @tidalwaveautospa Wave, for your incredible generosity and for supporting ESP and so many other organizations through your work.

We’re so grateful to be part of it! 🩵💛🧡

Who knew so many joyful tears could be shed in one night🥹

One of my favorite things is getting to cheer on the people who fuel the ESP mission every single day—and this week, we got to celebrate them BIG.

Seven staff awards, each rooted in one of our seven core values. Five community member awards, celebrating the hard work, joy, leadership, and impact we have the privilege of witnessing day in and day out.

Every award ended the same way: with a big hug. And I couldn’t help but think what a beautiful picture that is of ESP. Excellence wrapped in love. People giving their very best to this mission—and loving one another deeply along the way.

These incredible humans went above and beyond to further our mission this year, and getting to stand on that stage and cheer for them was such a gift.

We are turning the page on our 40th year, Chapter 40, full of love and taking a deep breath for whats ahead.

When colleagues naturally become close friends, you know you’re in the right place.

Each of us serves vastly different communities, bringing our own unique stories, experiences and skills from both the past and present. Every win, challenge and opportunity looks completely different from one another, yet we align under one collective mission that keeps us moving in the same direction.

It is the alignment around ESP’s mission that brings our collective character, heart and commitment to the center of all we do. Creating a bond that can only be described as a gift.

I am beyond grateful to do this work alongside people who remind me, again and again, why ESP matters so much - not only to those we serve, but to every single person in the communities where we each exist.

May we seek every opportunity to aspire, inspire and conspire for the good of our teams, each other and, most importantly, those we serve. 🩵💛🧡

Late Post! 💙

Extremely proud of Will and Cooper….both had a BIG week! 🥹❤️

Will was asked to share a little about his time with ESP at the Deal Me In fundraiser, and he absolutely killed it! He stood up and spoke in front of 200–250 adults like it was nothing. 😭 I’m so proud of him and the work he does with some pretty Extra Special People. ❤️

And then Cooper received a shoutout in MMS’s newsletter after being selected as the very first Student Spotlight of the year! 🌟😭

Two different accomplishments, but two incredibly proud parent moments. Watching these two grow, find their own strengths, and do things that make a difference makes my heart so full. So, so proud of you both! ❤️
