Handblown glass by Andi Kovel @andikovel www.esque-studio.com

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Overcast mornings, muted textures, falling leaves, light rain, subtle sun, laughter next door, long shadows, long coats, and traces of cigarette smoke. Autumn is incredibly special on our small piece of oak street.

Incredible team work and precision even while making very sculptural forms. And yes! We sometimes drill holes in hot glass… here it keeps heated air from inflating closed off forms. Huge amount of gratitude to the extremely skilled and thoughtful caring team my maestro @bencobb_glass Gabe phenom @gabefeenan_glass and the guns Emily (what on earth is your handle again 😜) and of course @crashkillbert and @kristineliot @nrdglass Thank you for hosting @museumofglass

Ready for some more before & afters? In the living room of our Alpine Meadows project, we kept the monumental stone fireplace intact, but nearly everything else received some kind of alteration.

One significant change was elongating two windows and adding a third, which really opened up the room’s connection to the beautiful landscape and made for a sunny, lofted corner that overlooks the pines.

The original paneling in the room was real wood but gotten so brittle that it was shattering, so we clad the room in new paneling and added a baseboard that aligns with the sills of the tall windows and tailors the room a bit.

We covered the existing beams in @benjaminmoore paint and laid concrete tiles from @artobrick over a new radiant heating system.

Taking a few cues from Le Corbusier’s architectural polychrome palette, we leaned into mid-century vibes and paired a cobalt blue, chrome-based Zagato sofa from @coupdetatsf with a vintage, wool, raspberry colored rug. Our clients had some wonderful existing pieces, so their own Finn Juhl 45 chair sits in the corner in front of a Märta Måås-Fjetterström “Roses and Lilies” tapestry, also theirs. One of our favorite floor lamps from @kalmarwerkstaetten via @thefutureperfect completes the vignette.

Three pieces from @the_rafi_ajl are in conversation with the other furnishings and give this room a fresh footing in the present day. A nested pair of his funny cloud coffee tables ground the seating group by the fireplace, and in the corner his cozy “Elaine’s Chair” is paired with a one-of-a-kind side table, also by Rafi. When the sun spills in, that chair becomes gravitationally inviting.

We think it’s not a bad room for après-ski lounging, do you agree?
