Be sure to grab your tickets for this Thursdays 7:30 screening of THE CHANGELING (1980) at @esquiretheatre 🎟️ follow the link in our bio! 🎟️ THE CHANGELING succeeds on a high level because it plays in the supernatural, and draws you into that realm, but the interior mystery asks the audience to investigate from a deeply human place. It is a ghost story, a haunted house film, a chilling mystery and perhaps mostly, it is an examination of transformative loss and emotional trauma.

The 1995 trailer for TALES FROM THE CRYPT: DEMON KNIGHT, screening next Wednesday, October 28th, as a part of Outer Cinema Cincinnati’s Halloween Spectacular at the Esquire Theatre! Initially a stand-alone script that floated throughout Hollywood since 1987, DEMON KNIGHT was finally optioned by Universal Pictures in 1994 to be the first feature length film adaptation in the very popular TALES FROM THE CRYPT HBO series, with the series host the Crypt Keeper appearing in the bookends of the film. Helmed by director Ernest Dickerson (award winning cinematographer of DO THE RIGHT THING), featuring an absolutely loaded cast of familiar character actors (Billy Zane, William Sadler, Jada Pinkett, Dick Miller, Thomas Haden Church, C.C.H. Pounder and Gary Farmer), and a VERY 1990’s soundtrack (Pantera, Ministry, Sepultura, Melvins, Filter, Gravediggaz), DEMON KNIGHT is a diamond in the rough of 90’s major studio horror films. Inventive, frightening, surprising, action-packed and featuring top notch special effects, DEMON KNIGHT is a major personal favorite that Outer Cinema is proud to bring back to the Esquire Theatre this Halloween season! Tickets for TALES FROM THE CRYPT: DEMON KNIGHT are available RIGHT NOW in the link in our bio! Don’t miss out, boils and ghouls!!

Tickets are now on sale for our Horror-thon 2026 show at the @esquiretheatre ! Join us this Friday as we kick things off with “The Whip and The Body” (1963) starting at 5pm at the historic Esquire Theatre! Pre-sale tickets can be purchased through the Esquire website or by visiting the SHC bio link. Directed by Mario Bava under the pseudonym John M. Old, “The Whip and The Body” was released internationally under the titles “What!” and “Night is The Phantom” and stars Christopher Lee, Daliah Lavi, and Tony Kendall in a dark love triangle. The film was heavily censored upon its initial release due to sado-masochistic themes and is the perfect opener to this year’s event. Please like & share! We hope to see you there this Friday!
