🌺 Today I got lost in watercolor and mixed media — three hydrangea blooms in jewel tones of magenta, violet, and blue, loose petals pooling with color, all nestled on a fresh spring green. Hydrangeas are one of my very favorite florals to disappear into, and somewhere in all those little petals I stumbled onto a whole new way of painting them that I completely fell in love with.

This is the quiet magic of artist time: my own experiments almost always find their way back into the studio. In fact, tonight’s happy little discovery just reshaped my lesson plan for Watercolor in the Gardens this Thursday. 🌿

Saw an adorable unicorn carving design on Pinterest and had to give it a try. I am so in love with how it turned out but more importantly, I find it calms my heart and mind. Every evening my hands feel steadier with the tools and I am trusting the process and taking it one small carving at a time. 😌

I did realize that the cold pressed textures sketchbook pages weren’t creating clear and crisp impression so I switched over to a smooth sketchbook and played around with stamps from earlier nights. It definitely made a huge difference.

Another fabulous event in the books! ✨✨✨ The weather could not have been more perfect for our field trip to Fort Point Art Spaces @fortpointartscommunity at the Envoy.

We were honored to spend the morning with Ahn and Philip Sawyer of @anh55clothing, who shared thoughtful insights into their creative process, artistic partnership, and the intention behind their work. Their reflections inspired us to think more deeply about how we curate, refine, and elevate our own creative practices. Their garment designs were stunning—filled with beauty, elegance, and craftsmanship.

A heartfelt thank you to our global sponsor @adobe, to our local partners @fortpointartscommunity, @cicnow, @beantrust.community, @essemartstudio, @iamsophiamoon, @newview.media, our volunteers, and everyone who helped bring this gathering together. It was a beautiful reminder of the power of creativity, community, and connection. ✨✨✨

Mini ink paintings for the win today! I LOVE color but give me some India ink and a calligraphy pen and I can get lost for hours.

❦ Just quietly restarting my personal artist journey by reclaiming 30 mins a day for the Art in My Heart. This is day four. ❦
