It’s always a pleasure to share art with people you like.
An artwork from the exhibition “the hot and cloudy atmosphere of a quiet sun”, an investigation on the invisible colours of the sun; what we see as white light is actually a combination of many different colours.

Silhouettes of endangered wildflowers, made with hyper black paint.
.
From 1930 to 1980, 97% of English meadows disappeared.

The series is based on the silhouette portraits that were very common in Victorian times and were made of people’s profiles, who posed very still while someone traced their shadow projected by a light on the wall. These flower silhouettes, like those shadows, recreate the outline of the flowers, but they only appear as shadows, without details or colors. The series is presented as a reflection on our responsibility to these plants and lists some of the plants that are on the list of endangered wildflowers in the United Kingdom: the tension of the delicate balance between humans and the conditions in which these plants can thrive. The silhouettes partially show the flowers but at the same time hide them with the materiality of the works made with a hyper-black paint called BLK 3.0 that absorbs 98% of visible light, so, when we see these paintings we appreciate the dark void of their possible absence.
