![2018 was an amazing year for me. Looking back, in just this one year - I've accomplished a lot that I'm proud of.
Previously, I was a singer (@vonation1) and a skateboarder. I started running in March of 2017. My first race was @gpbern, the most beautiful 10 miles in the world! And I finished my first marathon in October 2017, a day after I ran a 10km race. 🤷🏻♂️ I was loving the sport. But in the same month, I had a very bad accident at work which required an operation that involved putting screws in to fix the broken bone. The doctors told me that I would probably not be able to run or walk normally for at least 6 months. I put in all the work - mentally as well as with the rehab and physio. I was able to recover quickly and get back to running in February itself! I did another marathon soon after - finishing in 3:30; faster than my previous one!
After that, I decided to start with Triathlon. I signed up for @ironmanswitzerland 70.3 and tons of other races that were a part of the @tricircuit! I did my first Triathlon IM 70.3 Rapperswill. I finished the @glacier3000.ch. A day after that I did an Oly distance. I basically began racing nearly every weekend, sometimes even twice in one weekend! In just a span of a few weeks, I completed tons of races, including one of the hardest Swiss Triathlons - @infernotriathlon.
I met so many wonderful people and friends along the way. People that have inspired me, people that have been or become role models. I joined a team and a club, and I even won a brand new TT bike! 😱 I am very thankful for every moment, every race (yes, there were many! 😂), and every new friend I made last year.
I’m ready to take on 2019. Have been training really hard, and stoked to be able to join a triathlete that I've really looked up to since I started with Triathlon! I have some big dreams for 2019, and I will work harder than I worked last year. In such a short amount of time, Triathlon has helped me and changed me and my life in so many ways, and I'm really happy about that! ~ Estefan Gerheim [@stev0w1]
