Refreshing to the soul

The Slam Men—Ethan, Gordy, Dawson, Chaos Luke, and Smooth Luke—arrived at Silver City to find every ride entombed in ice, the air howling with unnatural cold. Jack Frost stood atop the frozen coaster, arms spread, declaring the park closed forever. Chaos Luke charged first without thinking, sprinting across a cracking sheet of ice as Frost hurled razor-sharp wind blades that narrowly missed his head. Smooth Luke followed more carefully, pulling Ethan back just as a carousel snapped loose and collapsed where he’d been standing seconds earlier. Gordy was flung into a wall of frozen prize booths, nearly buried alive, while Dawson dragged him out, fingers numb as ice crept up his arms and his vision faded from the cold.

As Jack Frost summoned a final storm, the park descended into pure chaos. Chaos Luke leapt onto a swinging, half-frozen pendulum ride, using its momentum to smash into Frost midair, both nearly plunging to their deaths. Smooth Luke climbed the control tower through blinding wind, calmly rerouting power despite frostbite creeping into his hands, and slammed the emergency heat systems online. The ice shattered, throwing Jack Frost off balance, and Ethan tackled him as the villain dissolved into mist on the warming air. The Slam Men collapsed onto the thawing pavement, bruised, shaking, and alive by sheer luck—Silver City saved, and the echoes of near death still ringing louder than the rides ever would.

The Slam Men — Ethan, Luke, Luke (yes, there are two), Dawson, and Gordy — marched into the Great Trivia Gauntlet with swagger and snack bags, ready to dominate with their bizarrely strong knowledge of fast food mascots and forgotten 2000s TV shows. But their confidence was shattered by a ruthless squad known as The Fact Fiends, who crushed them with questions about obscure geography, Shakespearean side characters, and classical composers no one had even heard of. The final blow came when both Lukes froze on the capital of Moldova. Defeated but not broken, the Slam Men retreated to regroup, fueled by vengeance and flashcards — because this was just one battle, and the trivia war is far from over.

They were right — the sunset was beautiful!

College you’ve shaped me in ways I’m only beginning to understand. I’ll never stop looking back with a grateful heart at all the memories and learned lessons.
