Three climbers from three different backgrounds came together around one obsession and ended it with the 2026 @pioletsdor

Ethan Berman, Maarten van Haeren and Sebastián Pelletti returned to Ultar Sar after their 2024 failure, learned from the mountain, and came back to finally climb its long-unfinished 3,100-metre Hidden Pillar.

Six days of alpine-style climbing. Five hanging bivouacs. More than 70 rappels. And a line that had rejected climbers for nearly three decades.

They called it “Shooting the Moon.” In 2026, it became a Piolet d’Or ascent.

Watching you cross the @meettheminotaur finish line never gets old.

We are in awe of the community of trail runners (and cheerleaders), who gathered in the small town of Blairmore, AB to experience the unforgiving terrain of the Southern Alberta Rocky Mountains with so much passion and grit.

We are so proud of all our Arc’teryx Ambassadors and Athletes who didn’t let the wind or rain get in their way; our Ambassador Adam Mertens (@frontrangesrunning) completed the Minotaur Trifecta, snagging🥉at the Mini-taur 10KM!

Congratulations to every first-timer and return racer who met the Minotaur this year. It is no small feat.

Thanks you race organizers and volunteers for your immense effort year after year—cheers to Minotaur 2026 ❤️‍🔥

Another winter filled with beautiful climbing with the best guests and friends! Thanks for making it another memorable one! Some highlights included some good Stanley Headwall days, Bozeman Ice Fest, another trip to Icefall Brook and ice climbing in Hemsedal in Norway. Now time for some summer rock climbing and bike riding!

Climbed Suntori on Mt. Wilson with @ethanberman1 on the 10th. The route contains exceptional climbing that traces its way up a shimmering line of ice 1600m into the sky. Felt good to float up through those quartzite towers after staring at them for years. Topped out just as it got dark, windy and started properly snowing. Had a slightly harrowing time navigating our way down into a swirling void. Shoutout to Pete for sending some key directions; felt relieved to finally rap over Phil Spectre’s Nightmare. Thanks for a wild one Ethan.
