Great to see the work of the Lord @unionchurchmi in Howell, MI (just outside of Detroit). Ethan @ethanezikian and Dana @deezeek moved back about 5 years ago after spending and year and half with @tvcfm in our church planting residency. What a blessing to spend time with the Ezikian family and Union Church family!

There’s a lot of power when we give God our “yes”.

What happens in the mountains ought not stay in the mountains.

This week we spent 3 days with a group of 60 songwriters in the beautiful mountains of Colorado!!!

We gave our time to the art of crafting songs and caring for our souls, convinced the two are more dynamically intertwined than we might imagine.

We held space for one another as we dug into our stories trying to uncover our unique voice and unique perspective as writers.

And most of all, the Lord met us in ways and times that were completely unplanned and unexpected and… well, holy.

Words are hard to find for those moments. Language seems inadequate. @kalleyheili words seemed the most accurate, “When He is in the room like this, we honor him and give him our attention, we don’t move on.” And so we didn’t, and that was a spiritual decision and a moment of discipleship for all in the room.

Our mission @thewayofworship is to help deepen the worship of the Church by shaping the way we lead and write and create. A lofty and impossible undertaking in our own strength and power. Yet, somehow also beautifully tangible when the Lord does what He does.
