YES, LOAD IS AN IMPORTANT VARIABLE TO INCREASE OVER TIME TO GROW MUSCLE.

BUT..

You need to earn the weight guys, truly.

Think of it like this, your brain does all the mathing, the number crunching, the understanding of what weight are on the stack..that’s why load progressions are common because they are easy to measure.

Your muscles however, respond to how hard the movement is, the stimulus they are exposed to, they don’t give a f**k about the numbers.

Take the example in the video - the hack squat.

The goal here is simple ➡️ stimulate the shit out of the quads. To achieve this you need to brace the core, stabilise the hips, and achieve as much knee flexion as possible to place as much emphasis on the quads as possible.

Far too many guys will compromise this for the sake of moving more weight. Many guys adopt a poor foot position, go into back flexion and extension at the bottom of the movement, and bounce out of the lengthened position like they are on a fking trampoline.

Whilst you are moving more weight, you have potentially reduced the tension being placed on the quads and the over all stimulus, not to mention risking injury.

Again, for the ones who didn’t get the memo. YES - load is important and should be progressed over time, just not at the detriment of other variables IMO.

FROM HOSPITAL BED TO IFBB STAGE 💯

Some of you may have seen parts of my journey in a previous post, but for those who missed it, here’s a little more of my story.

Just over two years ago, my life changed after a motorbike accident at 140km/h.

Five broken bones in my wrist, a fractured arm, knee and lower back, broken toes, multiple severe burns and skin graft surgery.

I spent four weeks in hospital and had to learn how to walk properly again.

Fast forward to September 2026, I stepped on stage for my first bodybuilding competition.

The journey wasn’t easy, physically or mentally. There were setbacks, difficult days and plenty of moments where progress felt impossible.

But I refused to let my injuries define what I could achieve.

I’m sharing this because I know there are people out there dealing with injuries, mental health struggles or simply feeling like they’ve lost their way.

Your circumstances don’t have to determine your future. With patience, consistency and the right support, you can rebuild yourself.

If I can come back from this, so can you 🙏🏼

Massive appreciation to my coach @ethangohari_ifbbpro for guiding me through this journey and helping me achieve something I once thought was impossible.

One of the reasons I started coaching was to help others build that same confidence, strength and belief in themselves.

Never underestimate what you’re capable of.
