POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It’s a beautiful day for new music, especially if you like rocks. LA based quartet Gneiss debut on @harmonicoozerecords with “Regolith” — link in the bio to listen, or grab a CD, which of course is made out of all that cosmic rock dust that contains us all:

“…How does one listen to music like this? For an imaginative narrative radiophonic journey into a soundscape with some of the same textures, with sources ranging from small barnacles to Xenakis, I highly recommend Hildegard Westerkamp’s “Kit’s Beach Soundwalk.” In her narration she says, “These are the tiny, the intimate voices of nature, of bodies, of dreams, of the imagination.” But one doesn’t need a narrator or lyrics to appreciate these sonic journeys. Each listener will bring their own imagination and curiosity. Each of the tracks on this record have a self-contained structure, and the record itself shapes the six tracks into a coherent whole….” (Excerpt from notes by Narin Dickerson)
