Creating this film came with so many challenges, long shoot days, and patience to get exactly what we wanted. One evening I glared at my computer for the VO and tried to put the feeling we were attempting to capture into words. Butterflies in my stomach, my fingers couldn't keep up with my hands and the words came rushing in. I knew the exact moment I was trying to express and how that moment was my root of everything, and how it was bigger than fish.

Sending it to be reviewed, the response was that not everyone is gonna know what I'm talking about - and they might even think I'm crazy. I looked at the words I had written and a reflection of a younger me looked back, I saw moments with my brother when we were kids, and the story we would take to our grandfather. I told myself maybe not everyone will understand, but for the people that do - maybe they will be reassured that this style of fly fishing lives on. That they could take comfort that it was passed on in this generation and that somewhere out there is a girl still getting her feet wet, tying on a big dry flies, hiking up the river where the grizzlies bed near the creek, and the elk roam the meadow. In her heart she protects the traditions and etiquette of fly fishing, safely guarded until it passes to the generation to come.
