SCI Portugal Brings Blue Bags to a Community in South Africa Small gestures, big smiles. On September 29th, two members of SCI Portugal carried out a community outreach initiative as part of Safari Club International's Blue Bags programme, in a small village in Droogesloot, near Bela-Bela, South Africa. Blue Bags filled with school supplies — notebooks, pencils, pens, erasers rulers and more — were distributed to underprivileged children and families, together with footballs and a few sweet treats that brought wonderful smiles and excitement. Beyond the donations, SCI Portugal specially designed an illustrated, interactive educational leaflet about African wildlife, nature and conservation, encouraging children to appreciate and protect the natural heritage around them. It was a deeply emotional experience for everyone involved, filled with smiles, gratitude and genuine human connection. This initiative reflects the spirit of SCI: bringing people and communities together, promoting conservation education and helping build a future where wildlife and local communities can thrive side by side. Because protecting nature also begins by inspiring the next generation. #hunting #conservation #sci #wildlife

Beyond Healthcare, A Commitment to Community. Every contribution, every act of service and every helping hand plays a part in strengthening our communities. As part of SCI Pakistan Chapter’s joint welfare initiative with Wasil Welfare Trust, representatives came together to support community members through medical assistance and the distribution of welfare supplies. These moments reflect what community service is truly about: coming together, recognising needs and turning shared intentions into meaningful action. Hunter Fact of the Day | Feeding the Ghost of the Mountains 🏔️🐆 Conservation is connected. As Ibex and Markhor populations grow through regulated wildlife management, they strengthen the natural prey base available to the Snow Leopard across the mountain ecosystems of Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It is a reminder that protecting one species can support an entire ecosystem — and that responsible, science-led wildlife management can have benefits far beyond a single population. Save one. Save all. One Team. One Direction. One Purpose. First for Hunters. First for Conservation. #SCIPakistan #SafariClubInternational #HunterFactOfTheDay #HuntingCommunity #SustainableUse

Speaking at the SCI Pakistan Chapter, Sharifuddin Baloch, Chief Conservator of the Forest and Wildlife Department in Balochistan, highlighted the role of ethical, regulated and science-based hunting as a wildlife management tool. Conservation works best when decisions are guided by science, responsibility and the people who live alongside wildlife. His remarks reflected the importance of using sound data, responsible management practices and community participation to support healthy wildlife populations, protect habitats and create tangible benefits for local communities. For SCI Pakistan Chapter, these conversations are central to building stronger cooperation between wildlife authorities, conservation professionals, communities and responsible hunters — ensuring that conservation remains practical, sustainable and rooted in long-term stewardship.
