Six years ago, Kickback Comedy Party started with 25 people in a tiny basement, built by Eva Alexopoulos on the idea that, when audiences feel welcome, the comics perform better. After years in the scene doing stand-up to cold crowds, she wanted a show that felt like party.

Now, Kickback has made its JFL debut and has transformed from secret shows to hosting sold-out runs.

Facebook memories really wake up every morning excited to ruin your day.

Sometimes it’s a status that should’ve stayed a thought. Sometimes it’s a picture you had absolutely no business uploading. And sometimes you actually looked incredible, which somehow makes the notification even more offensive. Thank you, Facebook

Facebook is the only one excited about these memories. The rest of us did not request a reunion with every version of ourselves that had internet access.

On Barely Edited, Bianca and @evaalexocomedy get into Facebook memories, embarrassing old posts, and the very millennial experience of having your teenage confidence preserved online long after your judgment improved. We thought we were updating our status. Apparently, we were submitting permanent evidence.

A little nostalgia is cute. An unsolicited retrospective of my questionable decisions? I’m going to pass.
