Cleaning under my implant is a challenge. I like the Dentek Pik because I can bend the plastic to just the rounded shape I need, and it’s strong enough to hold the shape. What are your favorite dental hygiene tools? #dentalhygiene #dentek #dentalpik

One of the long-term side effects of radiation for head and neck cancer is that the tissues inside the mouth can become stiff and less flexible. Some days, my tongue feels tight, my mouth doesn't move as easily, and I even find myself slurring words I normally say without thinking.
This simple intraoral massage has become one of the tools that helps me loosen those tissues and regain mobility. It doesn't "fix" the damage, but it often helps me speak more clearly and feel more comfortable.
If you're a head and neck cancer survivor, you may want to ask your speech-language pathologist or physical therapist whether intraoral massage could be helpful for you. Every survivor is different, so it's important to get guidance that's right for your situation.
Have you ever tried intraoral massage? I'd love to hear what has helped you. #intraoralmassage #oralcancersurvivor #extraoralmassage
