Rob van Hemert’s work is rooted in structure, but never feels fixed. Lines, grids, repetition and proportion come together through a considered use of mathematical principles, creating compositions that shift between order, rhythm and movement.

Placed alongside other works, the geometry and rhythm of Rob’s compositions create unexpected connections between different forms, gestures and ways of seeing.

Still thinking back to this trip. First time visiting Copenhagen & @3daysofdesign and I had an amazing time! Met so many lovely people and can’t wait what’s next. I will be back for sure..

Picture shot on my last day when I met @itsdavydd at the Lattitude exhibition curated by @clairedelmar and offered to take a picture of me surrounded by the collectable design pieces of @danielboddam @sabine_marcelis @marlo.lyda @sarah_nedovic @tom_fereday @okoolostudio curated by @clairedelmar

Unknowingly, I saved one of the best for last. @ukurant_ turned out to be the perfect final stop before heading home. Surrounded by collectible design, it felt like ending the trip on exactly the right note.

And yes… having my @nortvi with me made all the difference. Spacious enough for everything I picked up along the way, easy to manoeuvre through the exhibition, and a design piece in its own right. The kind of suitcase that feels perfectly at home in spaces like these.

A fitting finale to an inspiring journey.

Verlang je naar meer lichtheid en beweging in je dag? Niet groots of ingewikkeld, maar juist in kleine, inspirerende stappen?

Aanstaande maandag gaan we beginnen.

Iedere ochtend ontvang je van Eva of mij een Creatieve Prompt. Een korte uitnodiging tot beweging, tekenen, fotograferen, schrijven en meer. Geen extra ‘moeten’ op je to-do lijst, maar een moment om je rechterhersenhelft aan te zetten.

Juist die kant van ons brein, waar intuïtie, beeld en emotie de ruimte krijgen, is de sleutel tot creativiteit en rust. In plaats van in de analyse te blijven leer je weer verbanden leggen en het grote geheel zien. We gebruiken ook Body Mind Language: je stapt uit het denken en komt in de ervaring.

Every morning you will receive a Creative Prompt from Eva or me. A short invitation to move, draw, photograph, write and more. No extra ‘have to’ on your to-do list, but a moment to turn on your right brain.

That very side of our brain, where intuition, imagery and emotion are given space, is the key to creativity and peace. Instead of staying in analysis, you learn to make connections and see the big picture again. We also use Body Mind Language: you step out of thinking and into experience.

Surrounded by the art and creations of Sara and Mandy (@ateliercph), we celebrated the 56th edition of The Gatherists last Friday.

A slow morning in Copenhagen, shared with a lovely group of curious and kind-hearted people. Ideas found their way to the table, stories were exchanged, and new connections quietly began to unfold.

Met veel plezier nodigen @evamielle_ en ik je uit voor The Lightness Project.
Vanuit een verlangen naar meer lichtheid besloten Eva en ik elkaar dagelijks uit te dagen met korte, creatieve opdrachten: van beweging en muziek tot schrijven en fotografie.

Al snel voelden we: dit moeten we delen. We verlangen er allemaal naar om op een lichtvoetige manier te creëren, maar zwaarte en perfectionisme staan vaak in de weg. Je zit in je hoofd, terwijl je hart wil overstromen.

Stap uit de analyse en kom weer in beweging. Daar begint de flow. Of zoals Nietzsche zegt: ‘dansen’ ondanks de chaos.

It is with great pleasure that @evamielle_ and I invite you to The Lightness Project.

Driven by a desire for more lightness, Eva and I began challenging each other daily with short, creative assignments: from movement and music to writing and photography.

We soon realized we weren't the only ones needing this. We all long to create and live in a carefree way, but heaviness and perfectionism often stifle our creative power. You're stuck in your head, while your heart wants to overflow.

Step out of the analysis and get moving again. That is where flow begins. Or as Nietzsche says: 'dancing' despite chaos.

Soft moments and quiet details, captured in the stillness just before the doors opened, by our dear friend Sabrina, who travelled all the way from Switzerland to be there with us for the occasion, her family in tow.

I dreamed of these captures in the lead-up to opening, and through the race to the finish line - as my team and I worked through a to-do list that seemed never-ending, these views and this perspective kept me focused.
