@trev_the_trainer jiu-jitsu is great to watch. Always hunting the submission, well-rounded, and very sharp with his technique. Since getting his black belt under me, most of his wins have come by finish.

@evan.rosborough is a former All-American wrestler with strong wrestling and heavy top pressure, and he’s been getting great results in competition.

Both of them stepped up and helped me a lot preparing for my ADCC match. And that process also pushed them, and their standard has clearly risen.

These two are ready. When the time comes, I’ll be right there supporting them as they punch their way into ADCC. 💪💪

BROTHERHOOD.

One champion walks in front, but he never walks alone.

Behind every battle are the brothers who shared the pressure, the sacrifice, the injuries, the endless hours of preparation—and still kept moving forward together.

No ego. No spotlight. No individual glory.
One mission. One chain. One family.

When one of us fights, we all fight.
When one of us wins, we all win.

This is more than a team.
This is brotherhood.
And this moment will stay with us forever.

Brotherhood is built in the work, in the pressure, and in the moments when everyone stands together.

Different roles. Different skills. One mission.
When there is trust, loyalty, and respect, there is no “I” — there is WE.

Champions may stand alone under the lights, but no champion gets there alone.

One team. One family. One purpose.
Together we fight. Together we grow. Together we make history.

4x ADCC Champion. 🏆🏆🏆🏆

Sharing a bit of history, because this match meant more than what happened this weekend. In 2019, Kaynan and I faced each other at ADCC. With 1:40 left, my knee completely blew out. I refused to stop, finished the match on one leg, and he took my back and won. He earned it, I accepted that. But it stayed with me.

Seven surgeries. Years of rehab, setbacks, pain, sacrifice.

Almost seven years later, we met again.

This time I was ahead on points, got to the body lock on his back, scrambled into side control, Kaynan was injured and tapped.

Nothing but respect for him. Multiple-time ADCC champion, one of the greatest of our generation. I hope his injury isn't serious and he comes back stronger.

For those saying I only won because he got hurt, remember injuries were part of both sides of our story. When my knee blew in 2019, I kept fighting and lost. No asterisk on his win. This time he couldn't continue, and I respect that. Only the athlete knows what their body is telling them. But before that moment, I was already winning.

Seven surgeries. Almost seven years. There were many times when walking away would've been easier than coming back.

But I never wanted easy.

I wanted another chance.

4X ADCC Champion 🏆

To anyone who ever doubted me, I don’t have anger torwards you. I just hope you find something you love enough that, even after it breaks you, you choose to come back. Then maybe you’ll understand why I never stopped.

2028, I'll be back.

At this point, we might as well make it a habit. 🫡 🏆

THIS WAS NOT “JUST AN INJURY.”

Full respect to Kaynan Duarte and everything he represents in ADCC. But this finish deserves to be understood correctly.

This sequence was the result of three areas coming together at the exact same moment.

Caio Terra mapped the fight: reactions, patterns and situations we wanted to create.
Evan transformed that strategy into wrestling movement: transitions, pressure and scramble mechanics.
My role in the physical preparation was to turn strength into speed, explosiveness, rotational power and repeatable action under fatigue.

And that is exactly what happened.

Yuri attacked the back, the scramble changed positions, Kaynan was never stabilized on top, and Yuri immediately reversed, finished completely past the legs and landed in side control.

Under ADCC rules, if stabilized, that clean reversal would be worth 4 points.

But the sequence did not continue.

Kaynan tapped. Three clear taps.

The shoulder injury may have been the reason for the tap, but the injury happened inside an explosive scramble created by Yuri’s pressure, speed, hip power and rotation.

This was not random.

It was strategy creating the situation, wrestling creating the movement, physical preparation giving it power and speed — and Yuri executing it under championship pressure.

Caio mapped it.
Evan built it.
We powered it.
Yuri finished it.

Official result: Yuri Simões by submission.

HISTORY MADE. 🏆

Last night, @yurisimoesdasilva added another incredible chapter to his ADCC legacy:

2015 — -88kg Champion
2017 — -99kg Champion
2022 — Absolute Champion
2026 — ADCC Superfight Champion

But this title means even more because of what happened before the lights came on.

After two years away, multiple injuries and a long rebuilding process involving his shoulder, knee and lower back, Yuri fought his way back to elite level. Then adversity hit again: another shoulder issue two weeks before the fight and a hamstring injury in the final week.

Most athletes would have been out.

Yuri found a way.

During the match, he felt both injuries and still managed to impose his power, speed, technique and wrestling. At moments, he was practically fighting with one arm and one leg — and still overpowering his opponent.

That says everything about this athlete.

This victory was also the result of a special combination of coaches:

@caioterrabjj — elite technical knowledge and Jiu-Jitsu.
@evan.rosborough — exceptional wrestling work and preparation.
And my role was to bring together physical preparation, recover and performance so Yuri could express all these qualities when it mattered most.

Yuri. Caio. Evan. Benkei.
Four people. One mission.

This was one of the most meaningful camps of my career, and standing in that corner was something I will never forget.

I hope this is only the first of many victories for this group together — in ADCC, grappling, MMA and whatever comes next.

A special thank you to @pitbullfightwear for believing in Yuri and supporting this camp, and to @adcc_official for the stage where history was made.

Talent opens the door.
Work, belief and the right team make history.

To Mestre @caioterrabjj obrigado por acreditar em mim antes de eu acreditar em mim mesmo. I’ve known you so long you’re not just my professor, you’re a blood brother to me. Everything I know about this art, about sacrifice, about what it means to be a champion, came from you. Thank you, brother!

To Mestre @andrebenkei , who’s been by my side throughout this entire camp. You pushed my conditioning to another level, and just as important, you were there for my mind when it got heavy, talking me through the doubt when nobody else saw it. I can’t thank you enough.

To @evan.rosborough my wrestling coach for this camp, who has a full time job and still flew out multiple times to help me prepare, then flew to ADCC too, right alongside Caio and Benkei. That kind of commitment doesn’t go unnoticed, thank you, brother.

To everyone who fixed my body when it broke down, who put me back together more times than I can count, who never once made me feel weak for needing help, thank you!
To the training partners who pushed me and sacrificed themselves to make me better, thank you! To my students, for inspiring me and motivating me to be the best version of myself, I hope I make you proud to call me Professor. To everyone at the UFC gyms who has supported me from day 1, I can’t wait to see what we build! Most importantly, to my family, who paid a price for my obsession that I can never repay, carried me when I couldn’t walk, and told me what I needed to hear, not what I wanted to hear, I love you guys. I didn’t name everyone here, but that doesn’t mean you’re forgotten. I’ll be tagging as many of you as I can, because every single one of you lives in my heart and in this camp. To the young fighters and kids out there who want to live this life: you don’t have to choose between being a champion and being a good person. You don’t have to burn everyone around you to make it to the top. Respect is not weakness. Gratitude is not softness. The realest thing I can show you isn’t my spirit, it’s how I treat the people who got me here.I’m ready, no matter the outcome; I know this is the best me because I have the best people in my corner. LFG, tomorrow history will be written!
