A year ago today we opened this beautiful opera! The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay was such a highlight of the last year for me and I am extremely grateful to have been trusted with Luna Moth.

Practicing new things and happy to find the balance in this position. I am not the greatest at using bent arm strength. Thanks @evanmcopeland

Aaaaaand that’s a wrap for Summer Intensive 2026! On top of classical ballet, students explored a wide assortment of dance genres and techniques, including samba, hip hop, contemporary, and more! We’re so proud of every student who showed up and all the hard work they put in, as well as every instructor who dedicated their time and expertise during these fun summer weeks!

We are getting closer to our goal of raising $6,500 for Sean’s 65th birthday! Your gift supports the process. From booking rehearsal space and paying dancers to creative research and costume design and fittings, there are so many elements of developing a new dance that audiences don’t always get to see.

Consider making a $65 donation today to support all the crucial elements of the creative process as we prepare for our premiere in April 2027! Donation #linkinbio

Partnering, balance, weightlessness… those were the themes of @evanmcopeland ‘s masterful lessons as he joined us last week for PBA Summer Intensive! Our girls imagined they were heavy as lead, light as feathers, and learned about the million ways in which a dancer can move through a space— all the while smiling from ear to ear!

🎉 We are thrilled to welcome Evan Copeland to Pennsylvania Ballet Academy!

🩰 A Central Pennsylvania native now based in New York City, Evan will be teaching a one-week Contemporary Workshop during the third week of our Summer Intensive, July 13–18.

📞 There is still time to register, and spots are still available! To enroll, call 717.774.7474.

✨ Join us for a special in-studio performance at the end of the week on Saturday afternoon, hosted by Artistic Director Vanessa Zahorian and our guest Evan Copeland, for parents, instructors, staff, and anyone interested in observing our raw, open workshop process behind the scenes. Students will showcase everything they have learned throughout the week, offering a unique glimpse into the creative process of contemporary dance. We can’t wait to share their work with our community!

📖 Be sure to read Evan Copeland’s bio in the comments below. We are excited to welcome him back to Central Pennsylvania for an inspiring week of contemporary dance! 💙
