I LOST THE MATCH BUT I NEEDED THE LESSON 📈

Went against a seasoned black belt and came up short.
NO EXCUSES.

I’ve had a stellar brown belt journey, and stepping onto the stage with a veteran black belt was an honor.
This is Jiu-Jitsu — the highs, the lows, the wins, the losses, and everything in between.

More than anything, I’m reminded how blessed I am to have a Jiu-Jitsu family that believes in me and supports me no matter the outcome.

Thank you to my Professors & Coaches @mikecarbullido, @evaristobyron , @racso_ledesma , @_kennethmosquito , @lloydvaughn_ _ , @danniebaisa , @_seanzee , @jeffmesa_29 29, @wujitsu , @joeycrisostomo22 , @gonz & everyone who has been in my corner especially @kristycarbullido

To my wife @drpeachymd & kids — you are my inspiration.
Always in my heart ❤️

Grateful to my parents, brothers, family and friends who came out to support me and celebrate this moment.

Thank you @submitintl for the platform and the opportunity to showcase my Jiu-Jitsu - Toe(galu) guard 🦶
“If you don’t know, now you know…”

And thank you again, Prof. Hayato, for the battle & the opportunity.

What a way to celebrate a birthday!

🥋⚔️ Now, Back to work.

1st place team overall gi and nogi at the 2026 patgon jiujitsu tournament! We also won 1st place in 5/6 categories (peewee gi & nogi, juniors gi, and teen/juvenile gi & nogi). I couldn’t be more proud of our team of kid competitors, our instructors, our parents, and our whole team overall. We came into this tournament with a lot less competitors than normal…we also didn’t have many of our usual competitors compete…and we had like our next generation of competitors competing. Our team killed it!!! Every tournament were usually the team with the most competitors the quantity with still quality but this time around we didn’t have the quantity we normally have but I felt we had a lot more quality than normal. Which I’m super proud of!!! Our kids have been training really hard every day and have been putting in so much time and effort and to see the results show I can’t put into words how happy I am for them. They deserve it!!! Also to see the next generation of competitors coming out from our gym and having great results just like our previous and original one…it makes me know that our system works and the direction we’re going in is the right one! I’m really grateful for all of our instructors who show up everyday and give their best to our kids our families and our team. I honestly feel it’s unmatched and just like every team probably feels about each other that’s how I feel about ours! Our instructors not only have the skill and professionalism but I feel we all have the passion and heart that makes every one of our students feel loved and supported and know they can do anything and that they have a huge support system that believes in them and has their back! Thank you to my wife kristy ann and my sister mikenna who are behind the scenes but work just as hard as all of us to make sure this team is what it is. *continued in comments -

BLACK BELT FIRST DEGREE

Bittersweet as I get ready to leave the island but extremely grateful for Kristy and Carbs. What they’ve created here at Atos Guam is something truly special and I’m glad to have been a small part of it.

I’ve always loved jiu jitsu, but you know they’re doing something right to make me fall in love with it again. I’m not proud because of the belt, but I am proud of what it represents. The years; the good rounds, bad ones; the losses, the wins; and all the people I’ve met along the way. It’s also is amazing to have gotten it from Guam’s most decorated and iconic competitors to ever do it. Honored to be awarded this from my brother and professor, @mikecarbullido

To my students and families - thanks for trusting in me to help guide you through the journey. I’ve appreciated all the love and support. Really going to miss you all.

To all my training partners - thanks for pushing me to be the best version of myself and transforming me to who I am today. I love you guys.
