I learned, I taught, I loved, I hardly slept, I connected, and I feel genuinely fulfilled.
I met so many fabulous people that I now call friends. Love you ALLLL! 💕

I’ve been reliving the @mormonmentalhealthassoc conference over and over again. The connections I made. The therapists I’ve admired from afar and finally got to meet. The incredible wisdom that was shared. The divine timing of being in SLC and having the opportunity to go on @thejessconnection podcast. I’m in awe of all of it.

I attended the Mormon Mental Health Association Conference, and I left more hopeful.

I left reminded that there are good people doing hard work, willing to ask difficult questions, wrestle with complexity, and advocate for healthier ways of supporting those both inside and outside of the faith. I don’t think healing happens at the extremes. I think it happens in conversations.

Having officially left the LDS Church seven years ago, I carry a perspective that has changed over time. I have deep gratitude for things my faith gave me, but I also carry compassion for the pain, confusion, and trauma that people have and do experience within it. (Myself included)

Both can be true.

Living in #Utah, it often feels like you’re expected to pick a side. You’re either all in or all out. Believing or anti. But I don’t think healing asks us to choose a camp. I think it asks us to become emotionally mature enough to hold complexity. One thing I’ve noticed is that many people become experts at criticizing, fewer become students of change. It’s easy to identify what’s broken. It’s much harder to become the kind of person who creates spaces where others feel safe, understood, and genuinely valued no matter what.

Today we talked about generational trauma, conditional worth, attachment, shame, belonging, and the messages people absorb long before they’re old enough to question them.Those conversations matter because the beliefs we inherit often become the beliefs we live... Until we stop long enough to ask whether they’re actually true.

As a counselor, I don’t want to help people become less religious or more religious. I want to help people become more whole, emotionally secure, connected and capable of loving themselves and the people around them without fear, shame, racism or conditions attached.

I think we honor the best parts of our communities by having the courage to challenge the parts that unintentionally and intentionally cause harm.

Silence has never healed trauma.
Curiosity has.
Compassion has.
Honest conversations and education has.
Standing up has. We can all do better. 🖤✌🏻

It’s easy to throw around the phrase “I’m so OCD,” casually but many don’t understand what it truly means. OCD is a challenging condition that impacts roughly 1 in 100 children and 1 in 40 adults across the world. (International OCD Foundation)

Julie from the @ocdanxietycenters came to educate the @worthitcounselingconsulting team on ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) and specialized OCD care. 🩺✨ Bringing specialized training like this into our space is so incredibly important because the more we understand the true science of OCD care, the better we can show up, advocate for, and truly hold space for the people in our offices who need it most. Thank you for a beautiful, eye-opening session!🖤✌🏻

We chose the name WORTH IT because so many people walk into counseling quietly questioning their value. Our clinicians start from a different place. We do not believe people need to prove their value before they are worthy of care. We do not believe dignity is something you earn through progress, insight, or getting it “right.”

🔳 Dignity is the starting point. 🔳

You are worthy of being listened to without being interrupted, overlooked, or made to feel like you’re “too much” or “not enough.” Worthy of care that meets you as a whole person, not a problem to fix. Worthy of slowing down and understanding your life, your relationships, and yourself in a way that feels honest, steady, and actually yours.

The name isn’t meant to convince you that the work is worth it. It’s about reminding you that you are, and when that becomes clear, the work begins to feel different. It becomes more grounded, honest, and human.

At WORTH IT, you don’t have to earn your place here. You are worthy now, forever and always.

Boundaries are healthy. Walls are protective overkill. One keeps the good in and the bad out, the other keeps everyone out (including the good stuff).

✨ How to tell if you’re building a wall instead of setting a boundary:

1️⃣ You ghost without explaining: boundaries communicate, walls disappear.
2️⃣ You shut people out before they’ve even crossed the line: boundaries respond to behavior, walls preempt it.
3️⃣ You feel safe, but also lonely: boundaries protect connection, walls isolate.
4️⃣ You make rules for others out of fear, not self-respect: boundaries come from worth, walls from wounds.
5️⃣ It’s all-or-nothing: boundaries are flexible; walls are brick-and-mortar.

Read that again. You deserve safety and connection. Don’t lock yourself in a fortress and call it healing.
