It’s a labour of love because it is so, so important
About more than money could ever mean to me
It’s about parents, mental health, creativity, language and a spring board for holistic child development and most importantly, FUN

We all need a place to slow down and catch a breath, just like the Green Sheep

Sometimes it aesthetic, sometimes it’s less so. Because play and exploration isn’t always pretty. And it definitely doesn’t have to be to get al the benefits of play!

Being outdoors takes away the walls for them to bounce off
But even just having access to nature parts can instil a sense of calm and social responsibility

There are few rules here. So long as it’s not harmful, they can interact with the activities as they please.

*all stations are carefully curated with our many mouthing friends in mind. All trays contain food grade ingredients plus some nature loose parts.
Paint used is washable and non-toxic.

FUN FACT: all sensory bases are dyed with food colouring for that extra little bit of peace of mind for mums

Our sessions are just as much about caregivers as much as it is about the children. We even have extra mats and cushions for our adults to stay comfy so they can fully engage and connect too

So many hours of heart goes into every single session!
💭 Dreaming up invitations to play
✍️ Planning so a range of sensory styles, play schemas and developmental skills are present and varied
👩‍🍳 Sourcing and preparing elements
🚙 Packing, transporting & unpacking
⏳ The set up
🫶🏼 A magical, relaxed vibe full of creativity and wonder
🧹 The pack up

I actually try not to count 😅

This week’s theme is very timely but not exactly planned that way!

Sensory play is more than messy. It’s seeing the colours, hearing that sound, touch and sometimes even smell and taste!

This fun, weather themed sensory base was inspired by the amazing @littlesproutsearlyeducation

We included chickpeas (dyed with food colouring), rice (dyed with food colouring), pearl couscous and daal/yellow split pea lentils

As an early childhood teacher… I can always tell which toddler play habits are creating chaos at home.

Following every play trend you see. Trying a new idea every day. Hoping one finally works.
But never understanding why it should.

So nothing sticks.

Comment RESET if you want play that actually makes sense at home!!
