There’s something about a wedding where two cultures meet that we never get tired of, and this is T & J’s. Two families, two sets of traditions, all gathered under one sky at Otter Trail Winery, slowly becoming one big family over the course of a single day. We got to watch that happen in real time, and it was beautiful.

Then the sun went down and the dance floor came alive. When the saxophonist stepped out and wove his way through the crowd, something shifted, and the whole room just moved together. Wedding party, cousins, old friends, all of them lost in the same song. Those are the moments we live for.

And to the vendor team who made it all feel so effortless, thank you! 🥂

A little love for the people behind the scenes. 🤍

The photographers arriving before everyone else.
The florist making 100 tiny decisions before the first guest walks in. Hair and makeup getting everyone feeling their best. The caterers moving through a room you barely notice. The rental teams building beautiful spaces from the ground up. The musicians, DJs, assistants, and everyone else quietly making sure the day keeps moving.

So much of what makes a wedding feel effortless happens long before guests ever see it.

We’re incredibly lucky to work alongside vendors who care as much about the final result as we do, and who make the behind-the-scenes part of this job pretty damn fun, too. ✨

Here’s to the teams who make beautiful weddings happen!

When Maddie and Anthony first inquired with me, and we got coffee downtown, it was incredible how well we clicked. From what I remember a 1hr consultation turned into 2.5 hours of chatting about life like we were old friends. It truly felt like I was meant to be their photographer. We all loved board games. When I found out Maddie is from the Missouri/Tennessee area I had to share my fiancé is also from Tennessee.

All day at the wedding people asked if they were friends of mine or just clients. I always answered with “kinda both”. I met them because they booked me as their photographer, but they are also friends now. Every time Allison, my fiancé, is in town we’ve gone and played games with them.

I may have finished shooting their wedding, but I can tell our friendship is still just beginning. So here’s to many more game nights! 🍸♟️🃏
