A garden built by me, my sons and their friends.

I have lived next to Streatham Common for years and am in love with its endless hidden corners and wild, sprawling ancient woodland edges. When I was asked to design a garden just around the corner, I knew it needed to be a space that was connected to that landscape. What I hadn’t anticipated was how much deeper the connection would get when I recruited my sons and their friends - all local young people who have grown up in Streatham.

In the almost unbearable heat of Summer 2026 - with lots of digging, music, some fairly ambitious construction projects and an extraordinary amount of time spent outdoors together, we built a garden.

Working alongside this funny, energetic, unbelievably capable group of young people, and watching them learn - not just about the work itself but about soil, nature, wildlife and sustainability - was my favourite part of this year. I’m immensely proud of them, and of the garden they’ve made with me.

Planted in late August, the garden still has plenty of growing to do, but I can already feel the boundaries between the garden and landscape beginning to blur.

Sizes Of Everedge Classic? 🌱🪏

One of my favourite garden products.

Give your lawn edge definition with this weather resistant, maintenance free, 1.6mm thick galvanised steel lawn edging, coated in a corrosion resistant brown paint, which research has revealed to be the most natural colour for the majority of applications.

The CLASSIC garden lawn edging is supplied in packs of 5 x 1m strips and is available in 4 different heights.

You can choose from a range of finishes with CLASSIC flexible garden edging, from natural brown to modern black and slate or even rustic CorTen.

Manufactured from almost 100% recycled material using British Steel.

Extremely flexible suitable for small and large projects.

The 1m lengths are easily installed with a hammer, screwdriver and block of wood, straight lines and corners can be given a neat finish, and the tedious task of continuous edging is eliminated.

The spikes hold the lengths securely in the soil and the lawn can still be cut; please allow 6% extra for overlap when calculating the amount required.

The steel lawn edging can be cut to size with either a hacksaw or a grinder with slotting disk, if necessary.

The lawn edging can be shaped around curves as it is flexible e.g. a 1m length can almost make a circle.
