Breaking news in menopause ๐Ÿšจ What Iโ€™ve been seeing in my patients for years is now showing up in data from over 1 MILLION women!!!!

And this research reinforces why we need to STOP unnecessarily delaying conversations about menopausal hormone therapy.

A new study published in Nature Medicine analyzed more than 300 MILLION laboratory tests and found something striking:

Menopause was associated with sharper changes in multiple biological markers than would be expected from gradual aging alone.

These changes werenโ€™t limited to reproductive hormones. They involved markers related to bone and mineral metabolism, cholesterol, liver and kidney function, and broader metabolic health.

But hereโ€™s the finding that really caught my attention:

Women using menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) experienced smaller menopause-associated shifts in many of these markers compared with women who werenโ€™t using MHT.

Although this was an observational study and cannot establish cause and effect, the findings are consistent with what Iโ€™ve observed in my own clinical practice.

Appropriately individualized hormone therapy can offer meaningful benefits beyond managing hot flashes and night sweats.

And it reinforces a position Iโ€™ve advocated for years:

We need to stop waiting until women are suffering before having serious conversations about menopause treatment.

Timing matters. Individual risk assessment matters. And preserving womenโ€™s health and quality of life matters.

This doesnโ€™t mean every woman needs hormone therapy or that this study proves MHT prevents chronic disease.

It means menopause deserves proactive, whole-body careโ€”not a reactive approach focused only on symptoms.

Womenโ€™s healthspan should never be an afterthought.
