I went to anime expo a bit ago w Melia and Everett and yk what I think I had a pretty good time, made all of my costumes and wigs and it turned out alright 😇

AS: The American Comedy
At the 2026 UCSB Fashion Club Runway Show

The line was born out of my frustrations of this country, academic burnout, and mild depression.

I want to thank all my models, all my friends who helped me along the way, the beautiful people who helped put this event together, and, most importantly Fashion Club. Thank you for providing a creative outlet for the community.

I wanted every model to represent an American character.

Everett’s outfit was inspired by wartime drummer boys, who played along the sidelines. He carries a scorched flag, which each star burned out. The stars are meant to represent 50 states united, which we lack at this time. He opens the show, bringing in the rest.

Cupid’s outfit represents men-in-suits, people in power, and hidden perversions. As Cupid walks the runway, their outfit appears normal, somewhat boring, until they turn around revealing a party in the back. This outfit was heavily inspired by the Epstein files and the lack of accountability that came from it.

Mikayla’s outfit was born from 60’s housewives, who doped themselves to get past their mundane and boring lives. The 70’s the saw shrooms, 80’s had crack, 90’s had coke, fast forward now people do wake and bakes to get past their the day. For her outfit, I was inspired by the iconic 60’s dress silhouette, which backless twist, made entirely out of chains and lighters.

Riah’s outfit was inspired by the American fantasy of cowboys and erased history. Cowboys were predominantly made up of Black Americans, Mexicans, and Native Americans, yet these groups are not who you think of when you think of a cowboy.

Our Big Bee Santa Cruz Island researchers have more to show you 🐝‼️ Stay tuned for part 3…

Researchers from Big Bee were given the opportunity to head to Santa Cruz Island last week for some bee collection (thanks to the Coastal Fund) and got to share their findings with you all! These bees will be used for analyzing differences between Island and Mainland plant-pollinator interactions, bee functional traits, and morphology back at the lab 🥽 !

When Aurora, a character from his favorite films, breaks the 4th wall, calling him out against his ways, Indigo must make a decision. Will he be able to face the reality of the real world or will stray and keep indulging in a happiness that is not real
