Sneak peak! In our first ever SVZ #FounderToFounder Conversation, founders Ben Compton of @everyonearchives and Yazmeen Kanji of @filmswithacause sat down for a wide-reaching conversation that touched on arts entrepreneurship, the cost of startup culture, cultural memory, and much more. 🎙️

Founder to Founder is a new video series from the Social Ventures Zone, bringing two SVZ founders together to break down their entrepreneurial journeys, find common ground between their missions, and much more. ⚡️

We’ll be sharing the full conversation later this month - thanks so much to Ben & Yazmeen for being part of such a lovely pilot episode! 🎞️

It all starts with a desire to do good and make an impact, then an idea on what that could look like, followed by the effort to develop a plan and apply to pitch.

Congratulations to all of the finalists and recipients of this year’s Bright Ideas Pitch. ACCESS hosted these young leaders on Saturday as they gathered to pitch their projects to our community and judges.

The #BrightIdeasPitch recipients for 2025 include:

@IndigenousDanceFoundation — Dance to Empower
@ReDefinedCanada — Potential to Purpose
@YCAToronto — Career Crawl

New this year, the @DowntownBrampton BIA will collaborate with @EveryoneArchives and @TogetherWithArt to support their projects.

Each of these young changemakers has demonstrated their ability and passion for making a positive social impact. ACCESS is proud to support them and their work.

One of the many projects being featured at OPABF! On March 29, join artist + archivist @__bencompton, founder and director of @everyonearchives for
the workshop Memory Workers Lab: Preserving Your Personal and Community History ⏳👯‍♀️✍
//
This workshop will dive into the practice of documenting, archiving, and sharing the stories that you hold closest. What does it mean to preserve history? What tools can help you store and organize your precious photos, journals, and objects for safekeeping? What are some first steps when taking on an archiving project? Participants are encouraged to bring items from their personal collections and connect around the shared experience of doing 'memory work'.
//
Free to attend, more info at objectprojectartbookfair.com.

In our Fall 2024 #Incubation cohort, we welcomed four innovative ventures facing vastly different problem areas. 💡

We sat down with the founders of @PrestarCommunity, @HerGhana, @EveryoneArchives, and @Parmazip to hear about the issues that they're facing head on, and the impact that they're building across Canada and the globe 🌎.

We had our first archiving workshop last night! It was great–thank you soooo much to everyone who came out, it means the world. Hopefully many more events to come...

Last couple slides are of objects from the fieldhouse that we rented. Those of you who have spent time in community centres know the experience of searching through cupboards for tape or paper cups or whatever event supplies you forgot and finding all these interesting things that reveal the life of the building.

reach out if you have project or event ideas! info@everyonearchives.ca / @everyonearchives
