Calling all JANE DOEs and those who stand with them. This is bigger than Cornell.

Saturday 24th, 12pm-2pm, Royal Courts of Justice, London. Wear red.

We will rally as JANE DOEs and in solidarity with all JANE DOEs to demand better from men, universities, and our justice system.

You are invited to come with a sign reading ‘Jane Doe’. If you feel comfortable, you can add a line on where you or someone you know experienced SA, because this isn't an issue confined to universities. It’s everywhere, and it can happen to anyone. Examples are in the graphics above.

Showing up with alternative signs or without signs is also welcome. Please prioritise your comfort. You are invited to use “John Doe” or any variation which includes your experience.

Taking the fight to expand mandatory RSE to Parliament 🚨

16 to 19-year-olds experience the highest rate of domestic abuse of any age group, yet Relationship and Sex Education (RSE) ends at 16. Young people aren't guaranteed lessons on consent, coercive control or the signs of abuse.

That's why I introduced a Private Members Bill to close the gap and make RSE compulsory up to 18.

Today, alongside inspiring campaigners from @killedwomennw , @makeitmandatory and @evawuk , we launched The Unofficial Curriculum. This mock textbook shows what young people learn when they have no real lessons to turn to.

On 4 December, MPs will debate the Relationships and Sex Education (Further Education Sector) Bill.

We’re very proud to announce that we’ve partnered with Everyone’s Invited @everyonesinvited for this year’s show.

Everyone’s Invited provide a safe space for survivors to share their stories, giving them a sense of catharsis, empowerment and a feeling of community and hope. They educate young people to empower school communities to foster healthy relationships, sexual well-being and to tackle rape culture.
They advocate for survivors, amplifying their voices to foster positive change and engaging with government, institutions and key stakeholders.

Our aim is to raise funds to directly support services provided by Everyone’s Invited, to create meaningful change and advocate for awareness and education.

I can’t quite believe this is me!

Feeling soooo honoured to have welcomed the amazing charity @everyonesinvited and award winning photographer @jillianedelstein to my fire station!

I was lucky to be part of something so special, supporting their new exhibition at the @saatchi_gallery, built around such an important message: there is no such thing as a ‘perfect victim’.

Never in a million years did I imagine I’d be part of something like this, and I’m honestly so grateful to have been given this opportunity.

A really special experience, an important message, and something I’ll be proud to look back on for a long time.

He didn't have to do that. He would have been a great Pope even if he didn't do that, but he chose to do it and was the first person I thought of when I saw that drawing. They dare call him insulting names too 7:37, 17:1. He left an example for all of us of any religion. That person will never forget that day and now neither will I. I hope I get the organic chance to replicate this, not for a photo op, but bc I want to one day.

The most common age group to report rape to the police is 14-year-old girls.

This International Day of the Girl, we are confronting the urgent need to tackle violence against women and girls before it begins.

Through our partnership with @everyonesinvited, The Caring Family Foundation is funding a year-long prevention programme across six schools in Tower Hamlets, reaching 1,000 students and more than 600 teachers, staff and parents.

By addressing online misogyny, sexual harassment and harmful attitudes towards women and girls, the programme equips young people with the knowledge and confidence to recognise abuse, challenge harmful behaviours and build healthier, more respectful relationships.

Because prevention begins with education. And every girl deserves to grow up safe, heard and free from violence.

This International Day of the Girl, we must do better for our girls.

What does 2 weeks in the life of a freelance gender equality campaigner & creative look like? 📣🎨

Busy!🫣it would happen😅 This September back to school period has been MUCH much busier than usual, but while the news cycle has been CYCLING, it’s felt extremely productive and helpful for my brain to be doing so much work IRL, which has stopped me staring at a screen for too long and spiralling 🌀 .

Not every month looks like this, let alone two weeks - far from it.

So please do skip to the last slide➡️ for disclaimer about the realities of this freelance career! It is rewarding and exciting, but honestly quite unstable at times, and really definitely not always like this.

Today our founder Faustine spoke on @bbcwomanshour alongside the brilliant Ellie from @everyonesinvited and @dr_paulahall . Faustine was interviewed by the lovely @itsanitarani as part of an important programme on consent that mark Woman’s Hours 80th birthday.

Faustine bravely shared her experience of domestic abuse as a teenager and the need for a sociocultural transformation of society to truly tackle violence against women and girls , the importance of relationships and sex education (RSE) going up to 18 so that children can spot the signs of coercive control and learn about consent ( and a lot more ) .

The government have a once in a lifetime chance to educate the next generation about consent and all the important issues related to it such as domestic abuse and sexual violence through @alistairstrathern MPs private members bill, which will be voted on on 4 December and would change the law to make RSE mandatory up to the age of 18. Don’t forget to write to your MP about this!

It was such a pleasure to be the show for such an important topic that touches all of our lives.

I am Jane Doe

I am not saying this just because I believe her, but because I am her.

I am a survivor of sexual assault.
I have been drugged without my consent.
I have been harassed and violated, and made to feel unsafe simply for being a woman .. in the workplace, in school, in relationships, in bars, and in spaces where I should have been safe and protected.

I have never publicly said this out loud, but I know what it feels like to be failed by the people and systems built to protect you. and I refuse to be silenced. I refuse to let the system silence another woman.
