I’m a big believer that we don’t need to keep everything to ourselves. If there’s something that makes running a florist business easier, why wouldn’t we share it? And Through my work as a Florist Virtual Assistant, I’ve come across some brilliant systems that help my florist clients manage the admin, organise their businesses and claw back some precious time. So, I’ve picked out four that I think are worth knowing about: swipe to see them Each does something different, and the right fit will depend on how your business works and where you’re losing the most time. I’m not saying you need all of them. And I’m certainly not suggesting you sign up for another subscription just for the sake of it! But if one of these can take a repetitive task off your plate, help you get your numbers straight or give your customers a better experience, then sharing it feels like a no-brainer to me. Because running a florist business is hard enough without all of us having to figure everything out from scratch. Have you used any of these? Or is there another system you swear by? Share it in the comments. Let’s help make life a little easier for our fellow florists.

Did you even know you could have a happy price? Well, babe. You can and it starts here. >>> Are you one of the many florists ignoring your favorite mentors’ advice and working below a 3X markup + 30% labor/ design fee? Your happy price is not a 2X markup + no labor/ design fee. There’s just not enough room in that formula to make a healthy profit! I hear people 💩 on the industry standard all the time, but they are just blowing smoke! 💨 Small floral design businesses, START here. 3X + 33% labor/ design fee. (Add your delivery and sales tax, of course 😉) Why 3X + 33%??? Because it’s mathematically equal to a 4X markup and that is what you need to achieve a 75% profit margin. Your goal as a florist is to achieve a 70% profit margin. Yep, that’s before your overhead, labor, and expenses. So, shooting for 75% profit margin out of the gate gives you the WIGGLE room you need to allow for a few hiccups along the way and still achieve your goal!! 🥅 🌺 prices fluctuate and substitution szn is upon us, so having this industry standard pricing formula as a base to start from is just SMART business! EveryStem makes it easy to implement and CUSTOMIZE this price strategy. • You’ve got a labor intensive wedding coming up, adjust the labor percentage to 45%. • You want to move from your home studio to a warehouse space next year, adjust the markup to 3.5X and customize the labor percentage based on the level of complexity of each design. • You need to buy a delivery van. 🚐 Push your markup from 3X to 3.2X and keep the labor fee the same. EveryStem’s customizable, so you can formulate your pricing based on YOUR unique business needs! EveryStem is software that works for you, not software you have to work around. And the industry standard price formula is not something to sleep on! 😴 #forflorists #iloveflorists #flowersoftware #floralsoftware Flowers can come at a happy price

You’ve seen the “budget calculator” ads for florists all over social media lately, right? Just pop this calculator on your website and clients will be rushing to buy from you!!! 🤑 But, there’s absolutely zero mention of how they figured out the prices they put in the calculator… 🤨 A strong understanding of your wholesale costs, retail prices, and what you are quoting a client for your services has got to come before you start replying to inquiries, creating proposals, or building budget calculators on your website! Profitable floral designers know that this is the work that identifies your happy price! I’m sharing 3 signs that you are probably not charging your happy price in this post and if one of them hits home for you, it’s a 🚩that you need to take a step back and evaluate your pricing strategy before you do anything else! My name is LuAnn Dickson and I’m a florist who’s been in the game for over 20 years. My job is to help you discover your happy price! I created EveryStem to be different than anything else out there. It doesn’t start with a proposal or an inquiry because your pricing isn’t about the clients, it’s about YOU!! Your business needs to fit your lifestyle, your family needs, and your financial needs so why would you let client proposals or budget calculators be the driving forces in your business workflow? Finding your happy price is essential because it’s the starting point in your business that leads to consistently pricing for a profit! It is the key to how you’ll strike a balance between perceived value and premium pricing for a customized service! So, don’t sleep on this fundamental step in business that needs to be evaluated and reviewed regularly, determine your happy price using EveryStem and then take that pricing formula into all the offerings and services you put out into the world! Wanna learn more about getting to your happy price? Hit up the links in my bio to get started with EveryStem today. 3 signs that you are probably not charging your happy price

Appreciation Post: I’ve been married to the most supportive guy for 22 years! When I wanted to quit my corporate job and buy a flower shop, he was the only person who didn’t second guess my decision. Anytime I needed help at my flower shop he stopped whatever he was doing and made time for me. He’s even left in the middle of a round of golf to fill in for someone who didn’t show. If you know golfers, that’s saying something! ⛳️ Then 14 years later when I got the wild idea to build a flower recipe software business, he jumped on board too ( although, it took a wee bit of convincing that time! 😆) This man has tested EveryStem, helped create countless tutorial videos, proof-read just about every blog, and actively assists in maintaining the stack of many structures behind the scenes that have to be constantly updated to keep EveryStem running smoothly and reliably for you. He’s not on social media, so he won’t see this. But, I’m thankful for him everyday. And 22 years together is definitely worth celebrating!! 💕

These humans didn’t book me because I offered the cheapest price, and they certainly didn’t book me because I had the biggest social media following. They booked me because of 3 things that are getting lost in a sea of AI slop: 1. ACTIVE LISTENING: 👂 I listened to what they wanted, person to person. No AI bots created their proposals. I made a true connection and they felt heard. I can’t tell you how many times a client has said to me, “I met with 5 florists and you’re the one I’m booking with because you’re the only one that actually listened to what I want for my wedding.” 2. A HUMAN MADE PRICE GUIDELINE: 💐 I offered confident, standardized, and fair prices based on a formula that worked for my business. That is the origin of EveryStem software. A simple straightforward way to offer your clients fair prices without giving up your artistic integrity. I created a price guideline for my clients every year and shared it with them at the very beginning of inquiry process. 3. WOM: 🗣️ Other humans recommended me and I leveraged that all the time via emails and networking! My entire team was always dedicated to serving our clients with care, respecting the venues we worked at, and making each day not only beautiful, but also easier and more enjoyable. Those VALUES and ACTIONS stood out to wedding planners, venue managers, and past clients. And translated directly into a consistent flow of new clients wanting to work with me and my team. So instead of leaning into AI slop, AI images of flowers you can’t even get IRL, and a lot of wasted time on social media, pick one of these 3 things and FOCUS on it for the next 30 days. It’ll have a more impactful effect on your business than you might expect! 💕, LuAnn Couple in a field at the wildflower center. “One of the hardest parts for me has always been trusting the flower math,” Vanessa explains. “Before EveryStem, I would panic buy extra flowers and greenery on the day of the wedding and end up with far too many leftovers. Using EveryStem has changed that completely. I only wish I had started using it sooner. I truly can’t imagine my workflow without it now!” Let’s talk real numbers, because sometimes seeing it in black and white is the wake-up call we need. Say you over-order by just 10% on every event. Doesn’t sound like much, right? But let’s see what that looks like over time. Average wedding flower cost: $2,000 in wholesale product Over-ordering by 10%: $200 in extra stems per event. If you work 20 weddings per year: $4,000 in unnecessary flower costs. That’s $4,000 that could have been profit. Or new equipment. Or a much-needed vacation. Instead, it’s sitting in funky water (or your trash can). And that’s just the flower cost. When you factor in the time spent processing and managing those extra stems, the real cost is even higher. Over-ordering might feel like playing it safe, but as someone who’s worked with hundreds of florists, I know from experience that it’s one of the biggest profit killers in our industry. The florists who consistently hit high profit margins? They’re not the ones buying extra “just in case.” They’re the ones who know exactly how many stems they need and order accordingly. So how do you stop over-ordering without risking running short? It starts with flower recipes. Not vague Pinterest-inspired ideas or mental notes. Actual recipes with real stem counts, broken down by variety or function. I share my exact process in this blog post! https://www.everystem.com/blog/stop-over-ordering-how-to-calculate-exact-flower-quantities-for-weddings-and-events Vanessa’s got it down pat, you ready to join her? Did you know that you can update a saved recipe’s wholesale prices and add it to your new event with ONE click?? @passionflowersue created this gorgeous chandelier installation and I shared the recipe and retail price. That was a while back, but today it took me less than 2 seconds to add it to a new event. ⏱️ And that includes the time it took the software to pull current wholesale prices from my library! This isn’t a new feature in EveryStem. It’s been there! And it’s waiting for you!!! Start saving your most commonly used recipes & save hours of your time with EveryStem.
