There is something about Emily Henryโ€™s writing that I can really get lost in. Her books always make a great escape read that I donโ€™t want to put down, and Funny Story was just that. โ€ข This one was so messy and wonderful, and the beginning is so good and hooks you in right away. I mean the premise of the book alone had me raising my hand to read this one, like sign up, please and thank you. There were so many times I was laughing and making a mix of these faces ๐Ÿซข๐Ÿ˜ง๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฅฐ while reading. I really felt for Daphne throughout these pages, too. I really enjoyed her character growth throughout this one too. As a kid who frequented the library, I appreciated her community efforts, and how much she cared about her patrons and instilling the love of reading in kiddos. And I donโ€™t like to wish ill on anyone, but if a bunch of minor and major inconveniences were to befall Peter I wouldnโ€™t feel bad for him. Or Petra. However, I adored Miles and his attention to the small things, and just the way he notices. We all know @emilyhenrywrites creates some of the best book boyfriends. โ€ข Her attention to some of the heavier topics in this book is also done with great care - cheating, toxic parents/parental relationships, getting lost in a relationship, etc. โ€ข Thanks to @prhaudio for the ALC - Julia Whelan narrates and does a fantastic job as always. โ€ข Swipe over for the full synopsis โžก๏ธโžก๏ธ โ€ข This one releases on 4/23 so definitely grab it! โ€ข What is your favorite of EHโ€™s books? I will say if you love Beach Read, I think you will LOVE this one. โ€ข Tagging some fellow romance readers ๐Ÿงก โ€ข โ€ข #funnystory #emilyhenry #romance #romancereader #romancereads #bookreview #bookstagrammer #emilyhenrybooks

Over the last few years I have come to love and embrace my femininity and all that it means to be a woman. I only wish all girls would learn at an early age that they are the sun. Happy International Womenโ€™s Day ๐Ÿ˜˜ Youโ€™ll learn to let people have shitty opinions And talk about your traumas And like the body you live in Someday youโ€™ll learn to keep your own secrets Say youโ€™re doing okay and really mean it Youโ€™ll lose your faith a bit And question if sheโ€™s you For a while, you might not like her But I do ๐Ÿ’• Iโ€™ve tagged just a few of the strong, talented women I am lucky enough to call friends. This list is by no means exhaustive. I love you so much ๐Ÿ˜š

ONE YEAR ๐Ÿฅฒ One year ago today I was laying on my couch debating for the hundredth time whether to finally create this account. And I am SO glad I did. While I havenโ€™t been totally consistent for the entire year, I just want to say how much this outlet and the friendships Iโ€™ve made here mean to me. In Katieโ€™s Corner is my favorite thing Iโ€™ve done in a long time and has opened so many wonderful opportunities for me โค๏ธ Itโ€™s about so much more than books. If I could leave you with one thing, itโ€™s this - do whatever it is thatโ€™s scaring you. I promise it will be worth it.

โ“Q: How did you come up with your #bookstagram handle? Forever ago, I saw @twistandtropes post her #BookstagramBackStory and I decided it was about time to try it myself. If you're seeing this, I am tagging you! ๐Ÿ—“ When did you start your account? January 2021 ๐Ÿค“ What inspired you to start your account? The pandemic gave me a ton of time to read and I rediscovered how much I loved the romance genre pretty quickly. I started finding authors I loved and reading through their entire backlists when we were in lockdown. After so many friends continually asked me for advice on what to read next, I decided to dip my toes into bookstagram and share my thoughts with a wider audience. ๐Ÿ’ฌ What inspired your username? I live a very full life. Most days, I'm up at 4am and don't go to bed until late into the night. I work two jobs, have two kids, and have various hobbies that I spend my days doing. I am most literally booked solid. ๐Ÿ“– What was the first review you posted? My first review was Ten Rules for Faking it by Sophie Sullivan, but my first ARC review was for my sweet friend @eve.kasey.loves4 โ˜€๏ธ What is your favorite thing about Bookstagram All the authors that I have forced to be my besties and all the sincere, loyal friends I have met and made.
