At its centre is the winning project from the Scatti da Collezione (Collectible Shots) 2026 open call, The Lilies Pond by Alma Bibolotti | @alma_bibolotti, shown alongside A/R โ€“ Acqua e Ruggine (Water and Rust) by Giulia Natalia Comito| @giu.natalia, winner of the 2025 Portfolio Review, and sculptures from the series Le Muse Interiori (Inner Muses) by Alessandra Spigai | @alessandraspigai . The exhibition sets out to move beyond a purely documentary understanding of photography, favouring personal vision, symbolism and artistic research. Photographs and sculptures thus enter into dialogue, exploring the relationship between matter, memory, perception, and inner experience, reflecting Scatti da Collezione's broader aim of bringing photography closer to contemporary art and collecting, presenting it as a genuine art form in its own right. ๐๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐š๐ง๐ ๐€๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐ ๐‚๐ž๐ซ๐ž๐ฆ๐จ๐ง๐ฒ Join us on 22 October during Trieste Photo days at Passage Arte Contemporanea | @passage_artecontemporanea for a Presentation and Award Ceremony of the exhibition Collectible Shots: A Journey Beyond the Visible. ๐Ÿ—“๏ธThursday, October 22, 2026 โ€“ 18:00 ๐Ÿ“ Passage Arte Contemporanea Gallery, Via Domenico Rossetti, 3 ๐Ÿ‘‰ Discover more: www.triestephotodays.com

Some of my photographs made it to Trieste, Italy before I did.โ  โ  Over the past months one has been hanging at Trieste Airport, another will be part of the TRAVEL exhibition during Trieste Photo Days, and three made it into the accompanying book.โ  โ  This weekend I finally follow them there. Mostly to look around, join a few workshops and see what everyone else has been making. If youโ€™re around too and feel like meeting up, send me a message.

Their photographs will be on display at Magazzino 26 from 23 October to 8 November alongside works by Mark Power and Christopher Morris during Trieste Photo Days 2026. Overshoot, is an international photography exhibition exploring climate change and its impact on landscapes, communities, and everyday life. The title refers to the crossing of the 1.5ยฐC threshold of global average temperature increase above pre-industrial levels, the limit set by the 2015 Paris Agreement. In 2024, for the first time, global average temperatures exceeded this threshold for an entire year, marking the beginning of what is scientifically referred to as overshoot. ๐Ÿ”— You can find the the list of the selected photographers on our website: https://www.exhibitaround.com/en/news/overshoot-selected-photographers-announced/

The 2026 edition, titled "A Journey Beyond the Visible," invites participants to move beyond the mere documentation of reality and embrace a more intimate, conceptual dimension. Alongside the major exhibiton at Mercato Coperto, we are pleased to present the two honourable mentions: The Time Dreamed by Umberto Verdoliva | @uverdoliva and heim by Markus Born | @markusborn.photo. ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐“๐ข๐ฆ๐ž ๐ƒ๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ฆ๐ž๐ ๐›๐ฒ ๐”๐ฆ๐›๐ž๐ซ๐ญ๐จ ๐•๐ž๐ซ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฏ๐š The project was born from the distance between the time lived and the time longed for. Through transitional places, temporary rooms, and nights lit by artificial light, the author searches for a form of permanence that daily life does not allow: family, affection, and simple gestures are not absences, but fragile, intermittent presences that fully exist only when he is able to stop and truly look at them. Verdoliva has long pursued a path in humanist photography and was named FIAF Author of the Year in Caorle in 2023. ๐ก๐ž๐ข๐ฆ ๐›๐ฒ ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ค๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ง A long-term photographic project made while living in and travelling through Germany. The selection presented, nineteen black-and-white photographs, is a considered excerpt from a larger body of work, also intended for a book project planned for 2027. With an approach that combines documentary rigour and compositional research, Born leaves room for chance, building an associative panorama that is dark, attentive, and unsettled, touching on themes such as historical memory, migration, and the relationship with nature. The title itself, โ€œheim,โ€ stops just short of โ€œHeimatโ€ (homeland, belonging), gesturing towards a return that never fully arrives. ๐Ÿ‘‰Discover more: www.triestephotodays.com

A body of work that questions how contemporary womanhood is seen, lived and represented. ๐Ÿ‘‰Discover more: www.triestephotodays.com
