The world’s highest and largest salt flat, the Salar de Uyuni is a remnant of a prehistoric salt lake that once covered much of Bolivia. The white expanse, lying 11,975 feet above sea level, is punctuated by geysers, patches of boiling mud, and freshwater lakes that glow like emeralds. Cosmic Mountain Explorer 🤠🗻🌌🧗🏽‍♂️

Hey Cosmic Fam! I'm keeping it up here and will share a lot of projects in the coming weeks, this image is a Collab with my mountain bro @markualko , he is a bolivian mountaineer, explorer and content creator and we are starting to share astro and mountain adventures together so we will explore many cool locations the coming months, I'm excited to say the least!

Chacaltaya is a very accessible mountain in LaPaz that unfortunately lost its glaciers many years ago so to be able to photograph it with some snow is beautiful and unique considering how it is nowadays. That night we stayed at the shelter close by at 5300m or 17388ft and at those altitudes the sky is very clear with less atmospheric distortion...perfect for astro photography.

My next big challenge is to do astro photography at 6000m/19685ft 🤠🌌🗻✨

I didn't really get much exposure time of Orion but still got a fair amount of detail considering there is some light pollution from El Alto and LaPaz.

Yesterday, I mentioned a part of South America that had caught my attention.

It was Tarija, Bolivia.

While looking through the results of the 2026 Decanter World Wine Awards, I came across Campos de Solana, a Bolivian winery that received five medals.

That sent me looking beyond the results and towards a bigger question: what does the growing international recognition of South American wine mean for travellers willing to explore beyond the familiar destinations?

Having lived in Argentina for close to a decade, I know how much there is to discover across this continent. Tarija gave me another reason to look further.

In my latest article, I explore what this recognition tells us about South America's evolving wine landscape, and why it deserves the attention of Caribbean travellers.
