St Govan’s Chapel ✝️

Tucked into the dramatic limestone cliffs of the Pembrokeshire coast, St Govan’s Chapel is one of Wales’ most unique hidden gems. This tiny chapel sits at St Govan’s Head and is believed to date back to the 13th century, built around the cave where St Govan — a 6th-century Celtic hermit — once lived in solitude and prayer.
According to local legend, the saint hid inside the rocks here while escaping pirates, and the cliffs miraculously opened to protect him. Over the centuries, stories also grew around the healing spring that once flowed inside the chapel, drawing pilgrims to this peaceful coastal retreat.
Reached by a steep stone staircase carved into the cliffs, the chapel offers breathtaking sea views and an unforgettable atmosphere where history, legend, and nature meet. A truly magical stop along the Pembrokeshire Coast. 🌊⛪✨

Last weekend we had a class time following the Welsh Jurassic coastline from Ogmore Castle to Dunraven Bay (Southerndown) after discovering white bluebells and grabbing a coffee from @donalds.uk in Cardiff🌿

A day well spent discovering new favourite spots and wildlife watching.. for anyone looking for adventure inspo in the South Wales area we’d highly recommend visiting!

SO lucky to have even seen a dolphin💙

Ps @threegoldencupssoutherndown is the pub to go for a post hike pint.
