2026 has been a wild blur so far but I have a minute today so I will come on here and post a few things.

In March me and Tracy Hanna (as @the.postpeople ) guest programmed the @extratonal event FIRE FEST, inviting @eothenstearn @stephane.hanly and @arthurchambry to speak and sing around (big around) a bonfire at @buitenplaatsbrienenoord

All three artists rose to and encircled the occasion, with strange sounds, words and motions floating through a crisp, smoky night at the swampy industrial fringes of Rotterdam. I'm in some of these photos so I obviously didnt take them all but I dont remember who did, sorry! Thank you to everyone who sent me documentation.

We invited everyone there to burn drawings of their egos on a big vampire of the bonities, which was a sneaky first public moment for some long term thinking I'm doing about the 15th century radical proto-socialist mad monk Girolamo Savonarola, more importantly mediated through me and Tracy's shared love of the San Marco convent in Florence, as well as the tension between spectacle, extravagance, and asceticism.

I don't really have the organisational or logistical capacity (maybe patience) to ever be a proper programmer or organiser or ~*^curator^*~ but it is occasionally very nice to be allowed put a thing together where you show some practices you love to a community you care about in a brilliant location. Working with Trace helps me focus towards doing things like this (maybe because we make it fun) and I'm always grateful for that aspect of our collaboration, as well as all the others.

Also, as longtime fans of extratonal it was cool to be brought into the control room for a moment and be put in charge of the beans

Excited to share that I’ll be presenting Descent Protocol at the Multispecies Festival @extratonal in Rotterdam! 🌊

Descent Protocol is a guided performance that draws from scuba diving practices, underwater field recordings, and oceanic research to explore forms of listening beneath the surface. Through collective breathing exercises, spoken navigation, and submerged sonic environments, participants are guided through an imagined descent into underwater caves, extraction zones, and shifting marine infrastructures.

📅 Friday, 12 June 2026
🚪 Doors: 20:00h
🎧 Start: 20:30h
📍 Varia, Gouwstraat 3, Rotterdam
💸 Entrance: 0 / 3 / 5 / 7 / 10 € (pay what you can)

Hope to see you there!

Thanks to @extratonal, Mitzi and Mathias Hurl for facilitating an afternoon of pillows making, followed by a listening session, dinner, and an evening of concerts where I could perform audiovisual yarns together with @emanuele.arrigoni.

Perhaps inspired by Don and Monk Cherry Organic Theater installations, or from Amelia Cuni singing with Terry Riley <<I’m sitting on a pillow>>, or from @mailys.bnt who taught me the hand crochet technique, when I was figuring out how to make seatings for installing ‘Unruly, Undead, Un Un…’, or from listening to William Baskinski live at Chiesa Rossa, trying to sink in wooden benches, or still, from the lace makers of Sansepolcro and my teacher Lelia Riguccini.

Yarns, pillows, sounds. November 2025 @ Varia
