Extra Wavy was my pick for a dinner back in June! It was fairly new at the time and we have been to their sister restaurant, Yellowbelly in the CWE, which is also really good. I was really really excited for this place. I love the vibes and the cute little drawings on their cocktail glasses. We shared the salt and vinegar fries (absolute banger) and the lobster roll which was outstanding. Probably my favorite lobster roll I’ve had. Mom and I both got the crab pasta, and Dad got the shrimp puttanesca. Everything was sooooo goooood and we were able to take some home for leftovers. I actually loved this place so much I went back for my birthday with my friends. I needed that lobster roll again😂

Hi, I’m Cassidy 💋 and apparently I’ve been training for this page for years.

I’m not an STL native, which might be exactly why I’m constantly treating this city like I’m still a tourist in it. I want to try the new restaurant, find the hidden cocktail bar, wander the market, go to the random festival, check out the cute shop, and figure out what’s actually worth doing.

Somewhere along the way, I became that friend — the one who gets the “where should we go?” text, knows where to make the dinner reservation, and probably already has a list of three places we should try next.

So I figured it was time to put all of that good taste in one place. ✨

Good Taste STL is my guide to the food, drinks, experiences, shops & festivals that make St. Louis worth exploring — with a heavy emphasis on two things: quality + vibes.

No gatekeeping the good spots around here. 💅🏼

Come be a tourist in your own city with me. 💗💚

The set up: wavy burger, salt and vinegar fries, and strawberry mar-tiny (not pictured: sourdough focaccia w/romesco butter and lamb meatballs w/ricotta and red sauce)

You know it was good when I’m posting for the first time in about a year!! I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to get to @extrawavy.stl , but after working up an appetite at the night market @cityfoundrystl we finished the night with a feast! Everything I had (pictured and not pictured) was excellent. I loved the atmosphere, knowledgeable servers, and at the end of the meal, you even get an extra wavy postcard! Great food and great environment.

Extra Wavy.

When I heard this place had salt and vinegar fries I knew that I’d absolutely have to pay it a visit. I’d been to their sister restaurant @yellowbellystl and loved it and so I had high hopes for @extrawavy.stl and surely enough they had met my expectations wonderfully. The decor in there was themed with the concept and the food and service was amazing. The only thing that sucked was the parking because of how full it was (means it’s good) but that’s just STL nightlife antics.

Anyways I would definitely give them a visit if you get the chance and would definitely recommend any of their cocktails as those were the absolutely bomb.

🦪 Happy hour at Extra Wavy is a must! This coastal themed cocktail bar is great spot to start of your weekend 🍸 the salt & vinegar fries are amazing & we finished the popcorn shrimp in record time. They have plenty of classic favorites on their drink menu - can’t wait to come back and enjoy more food, drink, and dive into their dessert menu!
