Your creative works has value and the law protects it.

Too many creatives wait until their work is stolen before thinking about protection. By then, leverage may already be lost.

Be proactive. Be protected. Be paid.

Lately, we've been talking about structuring in the African Music Industry, while there've been an "online buzz" about the decline of Afrobeat. Copyright protection and enforcement is critical in building legal structures in the entertainment industry.

In this short but insightful Article curated by our Partner @eyeofthegods7, we throw more lights on what Coprights entails, and how Creatives can leaverage on the protection it affords while benefiting from their creative works.

As an upcoming Artist, while you must build a structure around your music, you also need to understand the team you work with and the roles they play. We have highlighted the difference between a Manager, an Agent, and a Label, as so many Artists mentally cluster them together.

One of the things most important to me in life is fulfilment doing work I genuinely love.

Entertainment Law, and the creative space in general, brings me immense joy. As a creative myself, my commitment to supporting creatives goes beyond the law on paper I understand the struggles because I live in the space too.

I had the opportunity to attend the mentorship brunch with Lucklyn Audu and it gave me a level of boldness I didn’t even realise I had. She is an exceptional teacher, and I’m deeply grateful that she has chosen to be a light in this space, intentionally encouraging and empowering younger lawyers.

Omotayo Inakoju was very relatable . She emphasized the importance of owning and sharing our journeys the wins, lessons, and growth along the way. Her words deeply resonated with me, especially because the film space is very dear to me.

To my fellow mentees, I loved connecting with you all. The conversations, energy, and shared passion made the experience even more fulfilling.

This month marks 10 years at the Bar for Lucklyn, and I just want to say congratulations on a decade of impact, excellence, and service.
Your work continues to inspire.

Sometime in October, it hit me!!! This year makes me 10years at the BAR!!! A whole decade of work, wins, lessons, tears, grace and growth. And for the first time, I felt an overwhelming urge to teach, pour, and build.

If you know me, you know teaching is in my blood …. literally. Third–generation teacher over here 👋🏾. But stepping into mentorship? That one took me time. I didn’t have direct mentors in the music industry, so the word felt heavy… until yesterday.

But on the 22nd of November 2025, I stepped fully into it and wow. I LOVED every bit. I hosted 12 brilliant young lawyers, and 4 hours felt like 20 minutes because the energy was pure fire!

We had four solid sessions:
✨ 10 lessons from my personal journey
✨ Branding & positioning with the ever-amazing @theomotayomi
✨ 5 key clauses every lawyer should master in a 360/label deal
✨ 5 clauses to master in Live Performance/Touring Agreements

My heart is so full. God did this.
And guess what? We’re doing it again next year. Bigger. Better. Louder. 💛🔥

To all 12 of my world class lawyers that showed up, you are my first babies and I promise to be there as much as I can, to give as much as I can and be a part of your journeys. ( can I say I love you? ) 🙈🙈

Sadly I lost my page @greyshell_consult on the morning of this event. Need I mention that between August and November, I have lost 3 pages including @culturesonicpodcast ? Crazy morning but it was a huge success!!

How can you stay polite and nice?
When the people around you challenge and fight.
When the anger in you reaches the height.
When the tolerance you have leaves your sight.
Your friends consider your patience as fright. 😒
When the anger of revenge is standing upright.
When you want to kill yourself or the one who fights.
But you know that losing temper is not right.
When all the people you love degrade you alike.
When you consider your life as a cut off kite.
And yourself as helpless as a boat on a tide.
Or a dry leaf on a stormy night.
The life seems as dark as night.
OH! God how to stay polite and nice.
BAD ENERGY STAY FAR AWAY 😔😔
