One last race before getting stuck into winter training, nice to come out with a team 3rd (even if I didn’t pull my weight after 2 weeks off), and generally just great fun.

Really well organised event by @elliott.colyer

@pelotonpix as always with some great photos

Emily Martin 2nd 21:44
Laura Davies 3rd 21:47
Laura Pittard 9th 23:05
Sam Howard 12th 23:14

Men’s 23/8/26

Dylan Griffith 19:28 11th
Jake Sargent 20:03 13th

It’s great to see the team coming together and seeing all their hard work paying off. Really proud of the team and the season they have had so far. Being consistent pays off. Thank you so much to all the team sponsors @nopinz @teambottrill @giantuk @cadexcyclinguk

#teamwork A quick round up of the CTT National 50TT this weekend. It was great seeing the team all back on it. We had Laura Davies 1st In the women’s in 1:57:44 and Emily Martin back on it which is great to see, getting 1st road bike in 2:10:21. We had the guys winning the team prize with Tom Lee getting 3rd in 1:44:50, Jake Sargent 5th 1:45:22 and Dylan Griffiths 6th in 1:45:25 and Rob Francis 8th in 1:46:12. Great team work from all. @teambottrill
…………….
Triathlete Alex Jones got 2nd overall in the British Middle Distance Championship, great results.
……….
Coached rider Victoria Stansfield @victoriastansfield rode the Marmot this weekend and won the fastest female overall. Awesome result.
………
Then a mention to my son Luke Bottrill and friend Mark Fanning who did their first open 10TT Team Time Trial on road bikes with me last night at Mallory Park. He has only ridden a road bike 4 times as he loves riding mountain bikes, but he smashed it. Was a great event and we got 4th overall in a time of 23:23 definitely a proud dad moment, he was buzzing after.

Another solid week of training and racing in the legs! Coach @bottrillmatthew has been ramping up the training over the month, averaging over 15 hours a week, and the consistency is really starting to pay off!

On Wednesday I tackled the @chipwheelers evening 50mile TT. The opportunity race 50 miles after work was too good to pass up and with the @cyclingtimetrials national 50 fast approaching I wanted a good test run before the big day. I was very pleased with how the legs performed after a day on my feet at work and took the win in 1:45:32, knocking 10 minutes off the course record and taking the win by 27 minutes!

On Sunday I lined up alongside teammates @f4rmerrob @pond.blake for the @swindonwheelers_raceteam 10mile TT on the super quick U47R course. I wasn’t the most confident going into this race, I’ve only done two 10 mile TT’s so far this year and neither of them being anything to write home about but I knew my form was good so I stuck to my plan and went out hard and hung on for the return leg. The results were very close at the top, with the fastest 4 riders only being separated by 5 seconds. I was very pleased to take the win in 18:22 but only 1 second clear of second place and what was a very different type of effort from Wednesday night! We also secured the team prize for @teambottrill with Rob and Blake both breaking the 19 minute barrier!

I can’t wait for the rest of the season! 🔥

My season is now in full swing with races happening most weekends until the end of summer and after a slower than usual start to the year I’m now pleased to say that all my shoulder troubles are behind me and my focus is now firmly on the upcoming national championships.

In the last two weeks I’ve picked up my 2nd and 3rd wins of the season. I finished nearly 3 minutes clear of second place at the @severn_road_club 25mile TT and then the weekend after also taking the team prize at the @chipwheelers 25mile TT with @f4rmerrob in 2nd and @dylan_rg04 in 4th.

My training has been going great, @bottrillmatthew has got me performing at my best ready for my first big target of the year, the @cyclingtimetrials National 50mile Championship. I hope to be reaping the rewards of my time in the wind tunnel with @drag2zero and @nopinz and the @ceramicspeed upgrades to my @giantuk Trinity courtesy of @windwaveroad without their support none of the success would be possible!
