A L T I N H A - Bondi de Janeiro

The game was born on the sand of Copacabana and Ipanema, and it needs almost nothing. A ball, bare feet, and the agreement that it must not touch the ground. Sea, sand, football and cariocas. Magia brasileira. This one is North Bondi, Sydney, one more sunset, half a world from Rio; Bondi de Janeiro. Bodies turn against the light, sculptural for a second, and the shadows go on forever.
In that exact instant nothing matters and everything matters. The ball stops turning, and so does the earth. Children again, playing on the beach, surfing, walking along in front of the sea. One frame. Yesterday's nostalgia, kept for tomorrow.

Sometimes the most meaningful moments of a trip are the ones you never plan. While renting scooters in Lombok, my friend @fabindio and I met two kids selling handmade bracelets by the road. Instead of just buying from them, we invited them to play football with us. One of the boys showed amazing skills, and it was clear how much he loved the game. After we finished, we asked if he owned a football. He said no. So while I kept playing with him, Fabiano went to buy one. When we gave it to him, the smile on his face said everything. And the truth is, this post isn’t about giving a gift. It’s about connection. Traveling becomes so much more meaningful when you slow down and meet the people who live there. Sometimes all it takes is a conversation, a shared laugh, or a simple game of football to remind us that, despite our different languages and backgrounds we have far more in common than we think. For us, buying a football was a small gesture, but maybe for him it means countless afternoons doing what he loves. Thank you, Fabiano, for sharing this experience with me. It’s moments like these that remind me why I love traveling. If you ever visit Indonesia or anywhere in the world, don’t just see the place, connect with the people. Those are the memories you’ll carry long after the trip is over.

dancing, clapping, yelling, singing: Bondi went completely green and yellow thanks to @diadecopa.sydney who made sure every Brazilian in Sydney had the best place to watch

5 big screens, commentary in Portuguese, Brazilian food and the whole crowd going absolutely wild

this is the Brazilian way and Bondi felt every single bit of it 🇧🇷🤍
