Night 13 oh #michellesadventcocktails and we’re taking this show on the road. Two nights in a row with puns, tonight it’s the Pear-suit of Happiness.

Whether it’s December or not, a cocktail is the perfect way to kick off a dinner party.

This one is like apple pie in a glass, only with pears. Cinnamon, rum, amaretto, and lemon juice, along with cinnamon syrup makes a cocktail that was well-received. A little on the sweet side, so one was enough, but I’d definitely have it again.

Special shoutout to one person who holds a big place in his heart for all things pear, and was a big part of this group before moving out west. Cheers @stackd09!

1½ oz dark rum
2 Tbsp. pear juice
1½ Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
½ oz. amaretto
1 Tbsp. cinnamon syrup
2 dashes Angostura bitters

Place rum, pear juice, lemon juice, amaretto, cinnamon syrup, and bitters in a cocktail shaker filled with ice; cover and shake. Strain into an ice-filled rocks glass.

Give me love. Give me hope. Give me strength. Give me someone to live for.
@thealarm front man, Mike Peters passed away today from an aggressive form of lymphoma that returned earlier this year. He lived 66 years for his family. His boys. His friends. His fans. His music. And his foundation he co-founded alongside his wife, @jules_peters (who fought her own cancer battle) to help recruit bone marrow donors at live music shows. He lived by a simple message, “Live right up to the last breath and stay positive about the world, your family and the environment you live in.” This quote means even more to me considering he has fought blood cancer for 30 years, following his diagnosis of lymphoma and having chronic lymphocytic leukemia twice! Not only did he rock, he was a long-standing cancer campaigner and fundraiser. I first met Mike (and Jules, Smiley, and James) when I booked @thealarm on @wgnmorningnews in 2016 - it was awesome to hear them perform the soundtrack of my college days. They appeared almost every time their tour brought them to Chicago. We became very close. They came to our house for dinner. We met Mike and Jule’s sons, Dylan and Evan. They met our Joey. We went to see them in Dallas with our friends, @jbtphotos and @barrelreserve - we almost went to Manchester to visit when we were in London a few weeks ago. One of these days, I might have to learn how to play the guitar Mike and the band signed and gave to me. For now, I will continue to admire it, remember Mike fondly, and try to appreciate every second. #mikepeters #thealarm #lovehopestrength❤️🙏💪

A fine dinning restaurant in the heart of Valpo that would recommend to anyone taking a day trip to dunes and looking for dinner before they go home. The food was incredible, not only was it delicious but it was a work or art in a plate. Ask for scott as your server, excellent recommendation on wine and entrees

Check out the highlights from our latest Progressive Dinner on Main Street! 🍽️✨

We started the evening with tasty bites and bubbly at Lynfred Winery, followed by fresh salads and cocktails at Juice & Berry. 🍷🥗 As we strolled down Main Street, we caught a glimpse of the exciting Petal Plaza construction before indulging in a delicious dinner crafted by Italian Pizza Kitchen at Pollyanna Brewing Company. 🍕🍺

The night continued with a stop at Mangy Dawg’s Pub Roselle for mango martinis and wrapped up with sweet chocolate treats at Happy By Chocolate. 🍫😋

Missed out on the fun? Don’t worry! Our Progressive Dinners happen every other month, with Pub Crawls in between. Stay tuned for details on our upcoming May 15 Pub Crawl - tickets dropping soon! 🎉
