If you read all this you’re a weirdo or you really care too much about me. Probably both. And I love you for it.

This year has been a roller coaster. “Ups and downs” seems too simplified of a phrase; more like the combination of an incredible fear of not making it to the end and an elation felt when you’re weightless and the sky is the limit.

This was one of the hardest years I’ve had mentally. Stretching myself between all fronts professionally and personally is an ongoing battle that I’m fighting on my heels. I want to be the best partner, friend, son, brother, musician, and coworker I can be. I fail at almost all of those. All the fucking time. Some lyrics I’ve written hint that I’m okay with falling short and “that’s alright with me” but that is so far from the truth. I talk to my therapist about this A LOT. I’ve had a lot of growth this year, but it hasn’t been without pain. Feeling fearful, jealous, depressed, and anxious was all too common this year. I cried a lot. All amidst external atrocities at home and abroad that showcase the worst humanity has to offer.

As the human condition goes, these difficult times existed between and within incredible moments. I released an album made with some dear friends and loved ones and performed it with even more folks that helped my thoughts and emotions take new life. A listening party and album release show warmed my heart with support of y’all. Only to be followed by playing the biggest show I’ve ever done. It was unreal. Along with multiple radio performances, some outdoor concerts, and theater shows. I’m so grateful and humbled. And the support has only burgeoned from there. You helped raise a lot of money for charities every month at my residency shows. There were new fans and new friends, sometimes both.

Genuinely, thanks to all of you who supported me this year. Going beyond music and merch, so many of y’all have lifted me and continue to do so. I’m trying to be better and do great things and it would be impossible without you. It only let me tag 20 people in this post but there are so many more. I love you and thank you for being here.

Upcoming shows happening in Tennessee, Missouri, Minnesota, Indiana and Michigan.

There are a few private events that I’m not promoting on the dates between, but I’m also still working with hosts interested in piece-mealing events together all over the country in the months that follow, leading up to the holidays. It’s been quite the landscape to navigate — who’s comfortable with what — but I’m doing my best.

Thanks to everyone who has reached out so far. Not gonna lie — it feels good to have dates on the calendar again.

If you’re reading this and you haven’t seen what I’m working on as I spend the fall getting my feet wet, here’s the question for the immediate future:

“Would you like to book a stripped down LTP talk-tour / living room / art space / etc. date in [your] city? Looking to do low-key evenings with book readings and spoken word poetry (no production necessary).”

Gonna be bringing some new work to these dates, too — and some new merch.
