It’s been one whole week of Bad Words, and I am so excited to celebrate @rioghnachrobinson tonight at @therippedbodice 🧡🩷🩵♥️

Now, because this design is not the most practical, I made a more neutral toned one for everyday wear! (Swipe to the end to see it)

Bad Words is a sharp, enemies-to-lovers debut novel about a public viral feud between author Parker Navarro and literary critic Selina Chan. What started as a harsh rivalry, slowly evolved into a fiery romance.

I am also currently obsessed with Ríoghnach’s webtoon comic, Angel of Death, and will definitely be talking about it more when I get deeper into the story!

A: i’m going to a screening tonight with a bunch of local Maine romance readers with @novellabooksmaine and i am practically vibrating with excitement!!!

one thing about me? i have 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 and 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗯𝗲 an Ali Hazelwood stan. i love this woman’s brain and all of the incredible stories she’s shared with us that are all time favorites of mine.

the movie trailer and all of the little snippets of this movie have had me SO excited to see this adaptation. the casting is IMMACULATE and i genuinely don’t think they could’ve picked a better combo for Olive & Adam.

while i had read a few romance books before picking up The Love Hypothesis, this book is one that really kickstarted my complete adoration for this genre that i previously had been made to feel embarrassed about reading. the fact that a literal neuroscientist was writing romance books really allowed me to embrace the fact that romance books are for everyone and reading romance does not make you less of a reader, contrary to what the patriarchy wants you to believe (*gets off soapbox*). Ali’s writing is so addictive - it’s funny, whip smart, and so bingeable with characters that are so real, relatable, and impossible not to love.

plus - Ali herself is truly the SWEETEST human alive and always goes out of her way to uplift marginalized voices and indie authors. getting to meet her this summer was actually a highlight of my life and i’m so serious when i say that!!!

the second i found out we were getting a movie adaptation of TLH, i was over the moon. and now, we’re getting Love, Theoretically AND Deep End adaptations?! someone sedate me 😩 (don’t talk to me about who’s producing these though - it’s still a sore subject ok 🥴)

THE SCHOLOMANCE 🏫

A while back, Paley asked if I would do a commission for one of her favourite books series. I said of course, but as we started talking more about what she wanted, I very quickly realised I couldn’t come up with something without reading the books (plus of course they sounded so interesting I wanted to get this design right!)

I very quickly devoured the trilogy, and fell in love with these stories and the characters so much. After reading, I created my design and sent it to Paley. We had a few tweaks here and there, and also saved some of my ideas for a Scholomance design for a different design she wants in the future (😈).

This design is a long time coming, and I appreciate Paley being EXTREMELY patient with me. Paley also hasn’t seen this yet so - I hope you like it hehe 🖤

Naomi, thank you for writing this trilogy! I absolutely loved and adored every second of it. I hope to run into you in the future so I can give you a Scholomance sweatshirt as well! ✨

GRIM TIDINGS 💀🪽

I read my first BK book this past Christmas when @abigael_reid and I did our annual long distance buddy read. We absolutely loved Good Spirits, and upon finishing it were both even more excited knowing that Grim Tidings was on the way. Abs is very Harriet core, and I am Darcy core so these books just felt perfect.

I am so happy I got to meet and chat with BK! We very briefly met at Bookcon, but it was nice to finally talk to her and gift her this sweatshirt! I LOVED Grim Tidings, and do think it will be one of my favourite romance books of all time.

The bouquet is made of lilies, a dahlia, baby’s breath, lavender, and thistles!

LOUSTAT 🦇♥️

Oh how quickly IWTV and Loustat has consumed my every waking moment. And how I should have listened to Julie MUCH sooner about watching this show (however, I LOVED being able to binge all 3 seasons back to back).

The complexity of these characters, the ACTING, and overall story is just so addictive and for those who love an unreliable narrator - IWTV IS PEAK.

This crewneck features the Théâtre des Vampires bat from their poster, plus a nod to to the quote about Louis being the 101st vamp 🖤 The date and time on the sleeve is what started this whole idea, and the back is of course their coffins and one of Julie’s favourite quotes.

I need season 4 like yesterday, and will definitely be reading the whiplash heartbreak of Anne’s original novels.

🌵 See You at the Sunset Tote 🌴

This tote is made of some of my favourite themes and moments from See You at the Sunset, and I think many of them will be your favourites as well!

I’ve made a few Sunset themed creations now, so trying to keep each one unique and different has been a very fun challenge! I thought this bag screams summer and is perfect for a trip to the beach or pool, or even a quick stop at the bookstore!

The Iron Hex 🌱

The Iron Hex released on Tuesday, however @loveandlegendsbooks is hosting a release event today!

I was lucky to meet @victoriashaz back in March at the Barnes and Noble bookfest, and we got to talk about all things The Iron Hex, fantasy, Studio Ghibli, fashion, and more! I had told her that that time that if @readmirabooks sends her on a book tour and stops in NYC, I would definitely be making her something!

GAMES: A Love Story

This post has been a long time coming, and I’m so sorry for it’s extreme delay! I had originally made this design with the intention of gifting it to Anna Maria on her release night, but my embroidery machine had other plans. Mix that with life and work, and well, I finally had the time this week to make it and photograph it, and I have to say, I think this is one of my favourite designs.

The painting on the front is of the Isle of the Dead (German: Die Toteninsel) and if you haven’t read the book yet, it’s Lili’s favourite painting. As for the back, it is the actual constellation map for January 3rd, 1977 in Leningrad, Russia (which is now known as Saint Petersburg).

If you haven’t yet read Games, I highly recommend it. It is an extremely thought provoking novel, and contains so much depth between the perception of right and wrong, good vs evil.

Anna Maria, I hope you love this, I’m so very sorry it took so long - but I will have it sent to you ASAP! 🖤
