Fashion may take centre stage, but what happens around the runway can be just as remarkable.
For Spring/Summer 2027, architects, artists and scenographers turned fashion shows into extraordinary exercises in spatial design. From Chanel’s monumental suspended birds and Louis Vuitton’s floating cityscape to Acne Studios’ sculptural textiles and Saint Laurent’s oversized chandeliers, the season explored the possibilities of architecture, craftsmanship and artistic collaboration.

Фаиг Ахмед. Золотой предел. 2026

Этот проект, до 22 ноября представленный в павильоне Азербайджана на 61-й Венецианской биеннале, родился в результате сотрудничества художника с учеными-медиками.

Фаиг уговорил работников бакинской больницы сканировать состояние его организма во время трехчасовой медитации. Результаты эксперимента – энцефалограмма и кардиограмма пациента Ахмеда – представлены как художественный объект.

Имя Фаига Ахмеда долгое время ассоциировалось с ковром. Художник раскладывал ковровый орнамент на пиксели, деформировал элементы, плавил, перекодировал, растягивал во все стороны – одним словом, ломал стереотипы восприятия.

«Золотой предел» – тоже в каком-то смысле ковер, где ритм сердца и работа мозга становятся линиями-нитями и представляют организм человека как материю. Духовная практика здесь перестает быть чем-то абстрактным и получает материальный след.

I stumbled upon the Azerbaijan Pavilion while trying to find the entrance to the Venice Biennale at Arsenale, so this turned out to be the very first artwork I saw. What a lovely introduction to the Biennale.

I loooove the melting carpet and how it leads you in and around. I also enjoyed The Attention, where you sit before the Entropy Altar which presents you with a unique sequence of 5 words, just for you, at that one point in time only. I’m a fan of @faigahmedstudio work now.

THE NEW ROMANTICS

Adam and the Ants would have clearly loved Jonny Johanson’s new collection for @AcneStudios. It was a mix of Rococo & Victorian styles, with a little ’90s twist, & a nod to the London’s 'New Romantics' of the ’70s.

The band was one of the inspirations for this collection, & their song "Prince Charming", released in 1981, served as the show’s main track.

Adam and the Ants formed in 1977 in London, with Stuart Goddard (aka Adam Ant), Andy Warren, Paul Flanagan, & Lester Square as founding members. The lineup would undergo significant changes later on.

The band embodied the essence of the punk scene before adopting the 'New Romantic' aesthetic starting in 1980. Adam Ant then adopted an androgynous style, blending glamorous & romantic influences with eccentric looks & flamboyant makeup.

The puffy pieces echo the costumes used in the music video, which features a ball, with a little twist that’s very Acne Studios.

Behind the soundtrack for this ball is @StudioFredericSanchez, who alternated original compositions—which evoke a more romantic aesthetic—with excerpts from "Prince Charming".

If Adam & The Ants represented the 'New Romantics', then we can say that Acne Studios introduces us to the "New New Romantics", a reimagined & modern take on that aesthetic.
