The world always reaches us like a signal, but before that signal can become a painting, it has to travel the long way through the body. A face seen across the room, an evening spent eating together, the air of a street walked many times: each takes on a slightly different shape as it passes through the hand. Landscapes Beyond the Protocol makes room for landscapes that arrive in this way, a little out of alignment. At a time when images are so often produced by following set procedures, the exhibition asks how painting, still rooted in the body, transcribes the world. Five artists who share neither a place nor a story come together in a single space in Mangwon-dong. Looking at the same world, one captures a scene on the spot, another redraws a memory again and again, another carves into a surface or rubs it away. Hanging these different translations side by side, the exhibition looks closely at where a landscape is made. SPACE TUM @art.space.tum

Not That Deep is proud to present 𝘐𝘵'𝘴 𝘕𝘰𝘵 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘋𝘦𝘦𝘱. A group show commemorating our first year of operation. We invited every artist who has shown with or supported us in the past year to create a work with cardboard. A big thank you to those who have shown with us or supported us but could not be a part. We will host an opening reception this Friday, October 16th, from 5-9pm. We believe in sharing art in person, and we are lucky to host such an incredible community of artists. “Dale Fuerza” was one of the paintings displayed at the French Embassy for SHAPE In Motion: Art Benefit Before I called myself an artist and cultural strategist, I was a skater. Skating is where it started for me. I picked up a camera to document my friends and the spaces we claimed. The skaters introduced me to new art forms; when we weren’t skating we were in someone’s basement with our blackbooks listening to music and sketching. My first time exhibiting my art was at the skatepark. I learned how community gets built when people show up for each other. Everything I do now, from my studio practice to placemaking work, traces back to those days. The evening was organized by the @shapeskatefoundation bringing together diplomats, artists, entrepreneurs, and sports leaders to support youth development across Africa. Proceeds from the silent auction went directly to their mentorship and exposure program, which is sending young skateboarders from across the continent to the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Senegal. Skating gave me a path. I’m honored to help open that door for the next generation and look forward to continuing to support this amazing foundation.
