Thank you Forward Festival for having us & for the two days full of inspiration! 💥 @forwardfestivals

And congrats to all the speakers for getting up on that stage and sharing their work, thoughts & experiences.

Here’s our little highlight list of the talks and ideas that stayed with us:

✦ Dada Projects — so many fascinating projects, but Google DeepMind: Visualising AI – AI for Sustainability especially stayed with us. A beautiful example of making complex topics visual and accessible. @dada.projects

✦ Faktor — a very important reminder that how we price our creative work doesn’t only affect us individually. If we don’t price our work properly, it has an impact on the whole creative sector. @faktor.so

✦ Thomas Albdorf — took us through his personal and commercial photography projects, giving us a glimpse into his process and the different worlds he creates. @albdorf

✦ Gabriela Namie — a reminder that perfect conditions are not coming. If you keep waiting or searching for them, you might wait forever. @gabrielanamie

✦ Luna Maurer — with one simple message we’re definitely taking with us: dance more! 💃 @luna__maurer

✦ Erik Herrström — made us rethink how we create. What if we didn’t start with a moodboard, but with in-depth research instead? More on that approach in his new book. @herrstrom

✦ Cachetejack — such a motivating reminder to keep doing what you love, keep creating, and trust that eventually the fruits will come. 🍒 @cachetejack

Two days, many notes, new ideas & a nicely overloaded creative brain.

See you next time, Forward Festival! ✨

Up next: Faktor.

I guess we all agree that figuring out pricing sucks, which is why I’ve spent several months with Rebecca and Rebecca from @behindtscope to build an online calculator for creative services.

It works like so: Each service has a base price which is multiplied with factors for experience, location (client and creative), client industry, client size and more. This results in a proce which is supposed to be fair, cause the calue of your design grows with audience it is projected to.

My type fellows can imagine, it has its root in the font licensing approach championed by @abcdinamo @mass.driver and more, just a little adjusted.
