I honestly don't know how to begin this. And some would probably say I should remain quiet, I most definitely won't.

I'm a survivor of abuse, and while I never experienced anything coming close to what women go through regularly, I can empathize for I know exactly what it's like to be helpless. Yes, I'm a white CIS male, which means little to me, but in light of my belonging to this privileged class, it's my duty to speak up. I didn't speak up for the longest time, and it shames me not having done so earlier. The first time, I told a bunch of guys making sexist jokes that this is neither appropriate nor would I tolerate it anymore was less than a year ago.

I've been quiet far too long, I laughed along far too long, I also cracked a joke or two as well, not that I believed in that stuff, but such behavior furthered the vile misogyny so dominant in our society. And I'm tired of it all.

The Cornell rapes aren't even the tip of the iceberg, Epstein, Trump, the rich and powerful in this our world do things like the Marquis de Sade wrote about, and the system they created via "tradition" and "morality" and "religion" has us defending the perpetrators and doubting the victims. And don't come into comments, saying that women rape as well. If a doctor says your odds of surviving are around 1%, you most likely will die.

Women must, by necessity, fear every man they're alone with. You also treat every gun you handle as if it's loaded because a mistake has horrible consequences. Yes, it's not all men, but if that's your goto reply, your words are of deflection, you aren't thinking of the hundreds of millions of victims. Guns kill, not every gun is loaded, but you don't go about pointing random guns to your face and pulling the trigger either.

Rapists must pay, and since the system is traditionally slanted to protect the rapists, it's up to those of us who are disgusted by how certain men behave towards women. Rapists must be afraid. They must be made feel worse than their victims for as long as a victim is afraid to be alone with a man. The system protects rapists, so we must see that justice is done.

Did you know that less than 1% of r🍇pists are sentenced? Yet every woman has either experienced or knows someone who has been 🍇’ed. Make that make sense.

To all the Indigenous content creators, I’m curious to learn what the Cultural way to deal with SA would have been? Although I would imagine it was extremely rare.

Cos whatever that was/is, would be preferable to men having to write an essay as punishment. Ffs.
