This Sunday!!! Aug. 30 @ 7:30pm! Come on over, shake the Sunday scaries, have a drink, have a laugh, and ease into whatever Monday throws your way. We’re so excited to have these folks back! We still haven’t come up with a funny name for this comedy night, but luckily we know people who are actually good at being funny 🤪 This Sunday @meekmeek_marie will kick things off as host, featuring some familiar faces: @erin.the.don, @rahkie_mateen, & @fariha.laughs 💖 We’ll be keeping this going through December and into 2027, every last Sunday of the month, with a rotating lineup of hosts and performers. If you’re a performer in the area and think your vibe matches what you see Sunday, reach out!

This past weekend I took part in a women’s stand up writing retreat. I can honestly say it was life changing for me. 💗 This past year I decided to conquer my crippling stage fright and social anxiety. Fast forward to now. I can’t even believe the person I am now compared to the person I was before. 🌻 I performed two stand up sets at @idiotboxcomedyclub. Both shows went well, but my second show especially felt like a personal milestone. I had fun, interacted with the audience, and felt SO alive and present! I felt like I was doing what I’m meant to be doing: being a silly billy and laughing with other souls! 💖 This weekend I made new friends - each of whom inspired me. At the beginning of the weekend I was afraid to share my ideas. By the end of my time there, I felt a newfound confidence and just-go-for-it-and-have-fun ideology. 🌈 We stayed together in a beautiful historical home, did many writing exercises, shared jokes, workshopped bits, practiced ranting, played music bingo at a bar after our first show, and we even did an open mic right after our second show! 🎤 One of the biggest lessons I have learned this year: I can conquer my fears. Yeah, it may be absolutely terrifying, but wow oh wow. When you finally immerse yourself in it, and make it to the other side, and not only survive it, but find yourself feeling… even more alive?! I’m discovering that on the other side of fear is freedom… and the life of my dreams. 🥹 Shout out to @jennie_stencel for organizing this amazing opportunity! She’s putting on the next ladies stand up writing retreat in November. I *highly* recommend! ✨ I may post some snippets from my sets… we shall see! 😉 Much love, Kira 💖
