Being active parts of our community is important to us at Annapolis Pediatrics. We have been honored to be participants in the communtiy gardens projects across our county put together by Farm Unity. The annual Farm Unity Harvest Festival at the community gardens at the Crofton Library brought together wonderful people for the love of accessible, healthy food, the benefits of gardening and community. If you haven’t checked out the community garden at the Crofton Library, stop by for a visit, or join to dig in the dirt and harvest something fresh to bring home. @aacpl @farm_unity

Our friends at @farm_unity in Crofton, a suburb of Washington, DC, shared a photo of their vibrant gathering space at the Crofton Library community garden. FarmUnity works with local volunteers and residents to grow vegetables, flowers, and herbs, while creating spaces for people to meet, learn, and take part in community life. SOS helped design an integral bamboo pavilion to support climbing plants and provide a place for visitors to gather and enjoy the harvest. #FarmUnity #CroftonLibrary #CommunityGarden #BambooArchitecture #StudioOtherSpaces

🌿 Purposeful Partnerships + Healing Outdoors = Magic 🌿 Big shoutout to Ruthie Prue, her amazing team from @walmart2279 and one of our newest scholar’s dads for rolling up their sleeves with his kids and spending the day with Shelley’s House Inc. and Farm Unity at the Crofton Library Community Garden! 💪🏾💚 We’re building a stunning bamboo gazebo—and trust, after all the splitting, sanding, and teamwork, we’ll never look at bamboo the same again! 😂 By day’s end, we had split 85% of the bamboo, planted new trees, and harvested fresh goodies straight from the garden for our volunteers. But beyond the work—being outside in the garden and around the garden was therapeutic. There’s something powerful about breathing in fresh air, connecting with your neighbors, and getting your hands in the soil. Community gardens do more than grow food—they grow peace, purpose, and healing. In today’s economy, they’re essential for ensuring we all have access to fresh, organic produce and safe green spaces to thrive. 🌱 Let’s keep building, growing, and healing—together. ✨ #PurposefulPartnerships #ShelleysHouse #FarmUnity #CroftonLibraryGarden #HealingThroughNature #CommunityWellness #GrowTogether #TherapeuticGardening #BambooBuild #SustainableLiving #WellnessStartsHere
