ONE MONTH TO GO‼

We're just one month away from welcoming Bonnie "Prince" Billy @wignifier) and Dawn McCarthy (@faun.fables) to the @o2institutebham, on Friday 13th November!

Its going to be an incredible show and one not to be missed! Bonnie “Prince” Billy is the most enduring alias of singer-songwriter Will Oldham, under which he has released the majority of his work since I See a Darkness (1999). Drawing on vintage folk and country traditions, his songs explore the complexities of human nature with striking emotional depth and poetic clarity. A key figure in indie, folk and alt-country since the early ’90s, Oldham is known for ever-changing live performances intimate, unpredictable sets where familiar favourites and obscure cuts are delivered with equal sincerity and surprise.

Finished off our big adventure sharing the stage with one of our favorite bands, Faun Fables!! 🦄💖

Fellows in progressive folk witchery, we all had a fun and mystical time making the Un-Church in Grass Valley CA sing with faerie magic 🎻✨️

Thank you Ben for doing such great sound, and to our hosts for putting us up for 2 nights and showing us the canyon nearby ⛰️💚

...And finally, it's on back home to Portland tomorrow night @13thmoongravitywell 🛖🍻

Hail the Faeries, hail the Fauns, hails to all the friends along the road and across the land! We love you!! See you tomorrow Portland!! ❤️‍🔥

Spotify Wrapped 2025

I am very late posting this and unfortunately, lost the opportunity to capture the more specific statistics I love to share. I thought I had taken screenshots of it all, but I cannot find them and the Wrapped video is only available for a month 😩 but I could not miss a year since I've been posting this consistently every year since I started using Spotify. I was so busy at the end of 2025 when everyone was posting - and then I figured I'd post it after the first of the year when I posted my Letterboxd Year In Review, but never made the extra time and the year got away from me. Spotify Wrapped 2026 will be here before we know it, so I figured I better get this posted!

One of my Favorite Artists, FAUN FABLES, released a new album last year that I couldn't get enough of! ❤️ It had been many years since their last album so I was very excited and knew they'd be my Top Artist this year from all the plays, but I did not expect them to take four of my five Top 5 Songs of the year! 😲 That was definitely a first for me and even more reason I couldn't let the 2025 stats go unrecorded.

I first encountered @faun.fables performing at a community center in the year 2000, bought the cd-r, put my name on the list and received their tour info postcards for years. So many shows, memories, my 20’s, 30’s, etc… so much experience long before I had the opportunity to sit with Dawn for a few sessions on song craft and listening.

Logging on late at night, we’d keep our voices low, all the kids in their beds. Her attention, her perspective, her ANIMISM nourished the fledgling steps on this album’s journey. One of the songs to spring from the experience is “Lions”, last song on side 1 of King of the Crickets.

Now her children comprise their touring band, and you’ll find mine roaring up a storm on any given night.

Feeling grateful for the lifetimes of music they continue to share
