Some stills from ‘Wild Lives, Wild Vision’

A three minute documentary that I directed. The film takes a playful look inside one of the UK’s only forest schools for the visually impaired and it has been uploaded to YouTube for all to enjoy! All the families we worked with for this were amazing; it was an absolute joy to make. Huge thanks to all the crew for the hard work and resilience that got put into this.

Last Friday I had the pleasure of attending the National Nahemi 16mm Kodak Awards- which celebrates 16mm commercial productions across the UK and Ireland.

I am extremely proud to share that I won a Cinematography award for ‘Sentenced by Salt’! A comedic commercial that I worked as Director of Photography on!

‘Sentenced by Salt’ also won BEST OVERALL and Best Brief!

Had so much fun working on this project, so proud of the whole crew!!

And we won.

‘Sentenced By Salt’ - a commercial that i wrote and directed won:

Best In Brief
Best Cinematography (@juliawojcikfilm !!!!)

Such a special special moment for everyone on the team, thanks to everyone who donated, helped and even said “yeah mate that’s pretty good tbf!” means the world and never taken for granted.

Really special because @uwe_film has never won Best Overall before - glad i could bring it home!!🤣🥹 #kodak #nahemi #uwefilm

Colour is vital to your story. As it shapes how your audience can relate and feel towards a certain theme. Respect a Colourist😃😉
Don't mind the video the main message is in the caption 🤣😂

A few weeks back I shot a commercial for the @kodak x @nahemiuk commercial competition alongside my Co-DOP, the wonderful @josefstringfellow.dng ! We shot on an ARRI SR3 with 500T film.

Such a unique experience learning about the beauty (and challenges!) of 16mm 🎞️

‘Over the Limit’ came from an @actiononsaltandsugar brief - directed by @emilyjs.films and produced by @evechesterr & will be entered into the Nahemi/Kodak student awards in May. 🎬

A very messy reel to celebrate a rather crazy year.

This year I’ve worked on more projects in more roles than I ever have before and met many new creatives many of whom I hope I’ll get to see even more of in the new year.

This year alone I’ve worked across 10 different projects as a writer, director, producer, DOP, camera operator, sound recordist, production designer, casting director, 2nd AD, makeup artist, BTS photographer and done a good bit of videography and editing as well.

As if that wasn’t enough I spent the summer interning @encounterssff and have had the pleasure of being one of @uwebristolsport BUCS videographers.

I’ve never liked the whole concept of finding a specialism. A jack of all trades master of none is I think what I’ll always be.

So follow along if you like someone who tries a little bit of everything and see what new stuff is in store for 2024. (Hint, 1st AD is about to be added to that list of roles)

Thank you to all of you for sticking with me through the chaos.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Last but certainly not least for this years productions is Wild Vision, Wild Lives. This documentary about the UKs only forest school for the visually impaired directed by @josefstringfellow.dng was probably one of the most fun shoots I’ve ever done. It was a pleasure to work as a camera op on it and can’t wait to see where this documentary goes.

Wishing all our Jubilee swimmers, supporters, fundraisers, volunteers and staff a splashingly fabulous Christmas. The pool will open again on Thursday 28 December @ 8am.

A special thank you to all the clubs who book our pool including: ANT Swimming, Aquasol, Bristol Life Saving Club, City of Bristol Aquatics, Open Minds Active, coach Amanda (Olympian Alex Edwards) and last but never least Out To Swim (who I have watched train and are simply beautiful).

Here's the UWE student video that perfectly sums up our fabulous community pool

See you on the other side.

A little selection of the BTS photos I shot for the short film Ghosted written and directed by the lovely @perezdegracia.film.

Over the course of this semester I have worked on 3 very different micro short films and I look forward to this being the first of many insights into those projects.

Keep an eye out for more to come…
