While Houston may have been the last stop on my official book tour, a calling like this has no season and no expiration date. I’ll be talking about this book until the message it holds is fully received and the revolution is complete.

To every person who supported me in any way, I thank you from the bottom of my heart and from the depths of my soul.

It hasn’t been easy, but it has been worth it. Because the reproductive education, bodily autonomy, and menstrual health of the next generation is worth it all.

Love,
Dr. Charis

Less than 3% of physicians in the U.S. are Black women yet our impact is immeasurable.

Today, February 8th, is National Black Women Physicians’ Day in honor of Rebecca Lee Crumpler, M.D., the first Black Woman Physician in America.

We honor the brilliance, resilience, sacrifice, and joy behind every Black woman in medicine. The late nights. The doubt we pushed through. The excellence we carry every day.

To every Black woman physician: You belong in medicine and always have.

And to those coming next, we’re rooting for you and making sure there’s always room at the table.

Today is national women’s physician day.

A day to recognize the brilliance, resilience, and quiet sacrifices women physicians carry every single day.

The work that goes unseen.
The strength that’s expected.
The excellence that’s non-negotiable.

We show up anyway.
For our patients.
For our families.
For each other.

Today, I honor every woman physician who keeps choosing care without losing herself 🤍
